longetivity vs replayable value?

jackwu10jackwu10 Member Posts: 127

i recently bought ps3..  but i am not really happy with all the games i initially bought.. so i kept on buying games.. hoping to find the game i like.. but still no luck.. :(

problem with console games is that instead of give u 100 of hours.. it gave u replay chance in different mode.. like easy, normal, hard, hell and so on.. but it isnt really my type of things..

i hate to reply a same game over.. but i have no choice, cos it's only chance to unlock mode and item.. but i find it pointless to unlock useable items/costumes after beaten the game :/

i personally prefer games that offers longer playing time and deep story. i just love to see the ending after 50+ hours of gaming, instead of playing same 10 hours 5 times..

what do u guys think?

p.s is there any long game in ps3? :( i have no more heroes/bayonetta/ff13/lot of fighting games/rosonance of fate/heavem;y sword.. thinking getting uncharted 2 or infamous2.. but not sure how long would they last.

    What about Deamon's Souls?

Is a good long game with great story but a bit hard at first.

Ah, and Dark Souls is a very long and good game too.

I'll back up Demon's Souls or its sequel, Dark Souls.

Demon's Souls is harder compared to the sequel.  It's very difficult in the beginning, but if you persist at it and learn, both games are very rewarding.  The option of multiplayer is there also.  Working with others, or invading / be invading for some good PvP.  It's pretty intricate, but multiplayer for both games is a big deal.

FYI, Dark Souls is on its way to the PC.  Not sure when, my guess is fall though.

I will hardly ever replay games, I just can't stand hearing the same stuff over and over again just to unlock achievements. I did try it once with FF13 but it just didn't really work and I got bored. The only games which I ever ever kind of replayed was Demon Soul's/Dark Souls and FF13-2, purely because of the story line itself and after the mainstory line, or you get some kind of bonus. Well I don't know for Dark Souls, as I havn't completed that yet, but I did Demon's Souls.

The only downside is a game does lose it's spark after the storyline is completed. This is why the old Final Fantasys were such a big hit, was that whilst it was quite linear, you kind of tried to do everything to get a strong as possible for the final boss.
