Whilst making a leaving post on a public forums is questionable to say the least, I can see his point.
Don't get me wrong, personally I'm all for a bit of forum pvp and have no problems even with the trolling of certain posters over certain things, but there are a growing number of posters on the forum who when you look back through their post history you have to question if they have ever played an mmo or even wanted to. There are some incredibly negative posters on every subject when it comes to mmo's but they seem some of the heavier posters on an mmo forum?

Exactly, I've been warned twice for pointing out (in the thread) that someone's trolling. Better to play it safe and report it if you care that much.
i agree with the op (though they'll never read it). this site's forums are so unbelievably toxic. "troll" is thrown around so much, and there's so much rancor and hate towards games that people don't like. i could never leave the site like the op because i find the rare decent post enjoyable, and i like the site's coverage, but there are times i just stop reading the forums and comments.

Is this your first rodeo? This is how I view internet forums in general. Picture a village surrounded by mountains and lush forest. You have all sorts of races living there. Elves, dwarves, humans, you name it. Everyone contributes to the village in some way, shape, or form. Unfortunately, there is an infestation of trolls. Annoying little things they are. The guards of the village do their best to keep them in line, but there is only so much they can do. You're told that it's best to ignore them, and go about your business. Unfortunately, the trolls know what buttons to push. Thus, you can't help but beat one savagely with a stick when it decides to crap on that pie you left out to cool. However, when you kill one, two spawn in its place. And so it's a never ending cycle.

Honestly to what I'm used to this site is bloody tame and a rule should be put in place that a poster that wants to hype a game in the wrong part is fair game.

Compared to the rest of the internet? Yea. Its really tame. I mean some might disagree. I imagine there are nice vegetable forums where you can talk about whats the best way to grow turnips that are 99% troll free, but otherwise. The internet as far as polite and reasonable communication is generally a waste land after an atomic blast where anyting left alive at all is flesh eating and extremely aggressive.
I sort of consider mmorpg.com to be a kind of oasis, or small village in the middle of that waste land. Yea the water doesnt work sometimes or it comes out a little muddy. The burger meat at the local diner is of questionable origin. The children all have far less teeth than they should at that age, and the adults generally have little to none.
But it sure beats the daylights out of the waste land that is online. Basically what Im trying to say is I dont see this being all that worse than any other game forum. Plus this place has around 1.5 million members. And its THIS GOOD? Pretty far out as far as Im concerned.
If the OP cant handle this, he may want to consider just sticking to gardening forums or perhaps forums regarding thyroid conditions. Those are probably his best bet. Heck in Texas where I used to live, the people were ten times ruder in real life than they are here with anonymity. So take that as you will.

mmorpg.com has over the years become a total troll invested and anti-social gaming site were even its offical writers play the game vs game and add small fanboy / troll remarks in their reviews and post.
so soon(tm) im going to delete my account aswell, untill that time Im just gona enjoy the shithole that this site has become before "getting a life" starts to kick in.

Foolishness have got a tendency to shine through. Like in "I tested this game for ten minutes, and it is utter crap". I don't mind foolishness so much, even a king needs clowns in his court
What buggs me more on this site are the parrots. Someone have an original thought, and the parrots will spread the meme around regardess if it's true or not. The exact samme wording. Soon it's everywhere. It renders surveys useless. It criples democracy. One guy made a false claim, and now it is becoming "the truth" due to parrots. Good rebuffals exist, but the false meme is out of control! It's is everywhere now, turning us all in to zombies.
This explains hypes perfectly. You can fight it, but you can never win. I never touched SWTOR, but I suspect parrots were involved when the game was hyped, AND when everyone hated it all of a sudden. You get the impression one million players individually came to the conclusion the story was lame. I don't believe it. It was more like one million parrots repeating one original thought. I have no idea whether that thought was true. Parrots made too much noise again.

Its very doubfull there is alot of badmouthing going on here at mmorpg.com they moderate this site very stricktly the slightest bait or troll get you warning or tempban so not alot of freedom aloud here.
If you come to open forum to discus many mmo's and other games, what where you thinking then when you registered here?... people praise your favorite game every reply they give ?
Come on that would be boring. I realy don't care what others say about games i like. Ive never payed attention to those who attack me or game i love i just reply and argue i i think there wrong or not, but never say to leave and f... well you know what i mean. Mmorpg.com on other hand won't aloud even slighest critics they just simply remove you from site.

Ive come here sinds 2004 and never reported anyone, i just ignore them myself don't need some site do it for me, i know whats right and whats wrong and when to ignore.

The man is quite justified in his complaints and yet misguided at the same time, the prominence of trolls on this site reflects a prominence of trolls within society itself.
The degradation of society is inevitable and long-reaching, survival of the fittest has come and gone with the introduction of government benefit schemes.
The support system for people who have no work and never intend to work, people that do nothing but raise kids who will do the exact same thing.
Idiots breeding idiots until the benefit system is no longer a supportable idea and when those benefits are cut these people who have no sense of anything, beyond their own stupidity will have to lash out.
In 2022 there will be widespread Civil Wars and mass executions.
On May 13th 2012 this post was the primary marker of the unfortunate events to come.

Almost a thousand people on ignore? OMG, that's huge! Do you see any traffic at all? Maybe there's just a ton of troll-accounts out there. Dunno, but as long as it works for you, why not? I several people on ignore, but nowhere near a thousand. One wrong word, one opinion you don't agree with and you put them on ignore? I think you probably went a bit overboard to get to that many blocked people, but it's your account.

While this thread is stupid, you have no real idea how bad it has become. It started earlier than a couple years ago. Nothing can be done. It'll get better in a while I hope.
