I know hardcore is hardcore, but D3 is pretty insanity

How is Inferno going to be accomplished in hardcore mode? When a boss fight occurs you cant even teleport out with a TP, and the bosses have enrage timers that makes them even harder.

I feel like a lot of tears are gonna flow.

Hardcore Inferno...sounds like it should be insane.  If you played a character enough on hardcore to reach inferno...you should know the ramifications of your actions and what could happen when you reach the "hardcore" stuff.

    I say "bring it on!"

Gonna love the challenge, even if i have to reroll a few times to be able to defeat inferno. One tip though: it would be wiser to 4 man inferno, with some friends, cause of the 75% hp added for every party member and no downsides to being in a party either.

Monk has an ability that can auto res him when he dies, plus lots of self healing. If that res thing works in HC, I think a monk would have the best shot at inferno HC.

Who knows though, it might be crazy to even attempt it.

The dev's couldn't even get through it. It was literally made with the idea that it could be impossible. However, so far gamers have accepted and defeated every difficulty challenge out there. I think it'll be a good, long time before anyone beats hardcore inferno. There is a reward for the first person who does I believe though.

Yeah aori I was thinking in terms of solo I guess.

Having a good 4 player team would work better probably.

A blue post said that blizz tuned boss fights by watching their best internal testing team, if they could not take a boss down in 20 attempt they retuned the boss, then for retailed they doubled the bosses hp and dmg.

I'm so wanting to get a Hardcore toon together. I'd need to invest in a big enough bucket to hold all my tears when the castle eventually came tumbling down though..

    LoL..

I'm game if others are.. :)

I am really happy that more and more ppl are going for hardcore. I remember 10 years ago i was laughed at for being stupid when i said i only play hardcore. 90% of players were carebears. I think thats why wow whas been so popular later. Because there was no real death penalty. Now more and more ppl (having reached my level of wisdom and guts) are up for challenge because are bored with nowadays soft games.

Or maybe its because HD said he plays hardcore?

Regarding the toppic, devs team are nubz. Our player base has much more uber ppl so i guess it will be possible withing a year or so. Of course one must beat inferno on softcore a couple of times to know what to expect.

    Playing: Rohan
Played (from best to worst): Shadowbane, Guild Wars, Shayia, Age of Conan, Warhammer, Runes of Magic, Rappelz, Archlord, Knight online, King of Kings, Kal online, Last chaos

If it's too hot, get out of the kitchen. Or inferno in this case... ;)

Sounds carebear-ish to me. Pfff, if you're going for Hardcore, roll one as soon as possible (if I remember correctly, you need to finish a Normal run on softcore first)! image

Regarding the developers, they stated in a developers video, that they first tested inhouse Inferno and when the testteam couldn't handle it, the upped the numbers by a few times. Just because they *know* that the Diablo 3 players are better then them image

I've to say, it sounds pretty daunting on paper if nothing else!

Is the inferno difficulty soloable or is it group only?

  • ProfRedProfRed Member UncommonPosts: 3,495

I think one of the big draws of HC for me would be if PvP chars were limited to their mode.  Taking your level 60 HC char into PvP against other HC players would be pretty awesome.

Inferno and HC designs go against each other in every way.  They want Inferno to kill you brutally over and over and have said it would require luck to beat it, but they made HC as brutal as ever.  For many I think HC will end after Nightmare and people will take their 60 to PvP and maybe once farmed a complete perfect setup from Nightmare they will dabble into Inferno.

Early on groups don't increase the monsters strength too much, but by Inferno monsters have over 400% HP, +35% damage, etc. with a full group.  All it takes is one little mistake or veering off and a char will be mauled instantly.

The devs already said they don't expect hardcore characters to complete inferno lol.
