The game, days after launch is still offline, lag when online, loss of characters, gold, stats, items and Blizzard is just joking with the customers in the EU. Saying its all our own fault, etc. They really lost it there!
People I call on you all to return your games and get a refund and buy it over 3 months at half price. Why do we have to pay full price and get half a game and then when the game is really finished the game is dropped in price to half the price and those people pay half the price for the full game! Its just not fair!

I have had no lag issues. I guess my internet connection is amazing amirite? But yeah it sucks that the servers are down on a Sunday :-(
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
Yeah EU servers are down again but hey when they come back up and the lag issues, missing items and all other issues are fixed then that's all good. Not that I am saying it's good they are down I most certainly am not, this is clearly not planned and something big happened Blizzards end.
Blue posted an update 5 mins ago;
We are currently testing some possible fixes for the issues encountered, and hope this will help us get the service back up as soon as possible.
European servers are not a problem, so yeah you won't have lag. Log into US servers and you'll see the latency is a joke. There are countless threads on this and no reply since friday! But we are fed you know, the usual user error crap if there is a reply.
Interesting thing for me, i live in a very far and away remote location, Barrow Alaska.
I can and still do play MMOs with my 2 internet connections, 1 is a DSL line (unlimited data plan slower speeds but very stable) and the other which i use for mostly business is a cable line (capped at 20 gigs 5 times faster download rates).
I have zero issues playing TERA, SWTOR, TSW beta event, GW2 beta events, LoTRO. I do PvP in all of those games and generally use my DSL line for it.
So after i installed D3 and all the garbage updates i set about trying to play it. For some reason it will not connect to battlenet over my DSL line. I switch to my cable and i am in game easy.
So i am not sure what it is that keeps me from using my DSL line to play D3, i prefer it because the DL/UL rates are very stable for MMOs/games, and that makes for a more predictable experience, not only that its an unlimited connection when it coems to data usage.
I can't imagine everyone in EU, NA, and Asia have better connections, so i wonder if others are having the same problems ?
Anyhow i submitted this to Blizzard tech support but i have not even received a form letter yet, so who knows ?
Lolipops !
this game won't be half price in 6 months let alone 3.
I could see it going F2P after a while. They should try and get as many people using the RMAH as possible. When the number of people using the RMAH starts to dwindle, I could definitely see them making an anouncement about F2P to rehype everyone.
I recall someone saying the same thing about..........
SWTOR
Vanguard
Rift
Anarchy Online
LOTRO
and on and on and on..........
Secret World will have an even worse launch, GW2 will probably top them all.
What I mean is no purchase price. I thought people would be able to figure that one out.
Too bad you didn't play Age of Conan on release, that was fun.
The RMAH. You can jsut read the first post that you quoted and figure it out.
Either way, reducing the price is certainly not off the table. I don't think free will be off the table either. They want that RMAH churning and what better way than to grab 3 million more people in to play for free?
Diablo 3 won't ever be free, only a tiny fraction of the players will use the RMAH. It will probably drop in price at some point, but it won't be free. Unless it's included in another action like the annual pass thing.
I just have to comment on this, remember when companies weren't extremely greedy, yeah when the box sales were perfectly fine for their revenue. Yeah i remember those days and that's essentially the problem with RMAH and let me just end this with, they can lie all they want but we ALL know that it's not about the gold farmers because of the huge number of other companies that tried this already and changed their tactics because it didn't work for them either.
Maybe.
I'm interested to see if "only a tiny fraction" will use it. If that were true, I'd agree with you. If a large fraction start using it, I could see it going free.
Why do you think only a tiny fraction will use it? Because you don't and you think everyone else is like you?
This game isnt coming down in price anytime soon...I think there is just some wishful thinking going on here.
I don't think anyone complained if it wasn't for the fact that you can't play in solo offline mode.
That is the real problem, otherwise is the launch rather what you expect. Normally you would just have shrugged and played some solotimeinstead.
Worst decision possible, but far from worst launch otherwise,
I don't think I ever heard anyone say "the game is terrible but at least now it is down so i can't play it".
Not that many people doubt that Blizz can't make a fun Diablo, but saying that the bugs will eventually iron out sounds a lot like SOE or Cryptic, not like Blizzard. The Blizzard I know used to release a game when it is done, and that means with a minimal amount of bugs.
I really wish that Blizz would have stayed away from Activision, it is not like they actually needed the money.
I absolutely 100000001,99% agree with you! This is why TL2, even more so than PoE will be win...
Playing MUDs and MMOs since 1994.
The game will not come down in price until the first expansion is near release.
The person suggesting it should be free is not the sharpest kid on the block...
HA....funny you
I guess you missed the part of PoE being online only? TL2 allows for offline play. Just that fact alone makes TL2 a better game.
Playing MUDs and MMOs since 1994.
Most games go down in price when the sales are slowing down enough, and so will D3.
But it will probably be somewhere between 6-12 months from now, and exactly how much it will drop initially is hard to say yet, might just be 10 bucks, might be 30. It really depends on if the game keeps on selling or just had one large sale the first week.
As for it being free I don´t see that happening, but it might be that D4 becomes free if Blizzard earn enough on D3s AH. If a large enough percentage of the earnings comes from the AH making the game free would actually be a good idea.
But the whole thing is rather untriedin a game like Diablo so Blizzard needs plenty of time to consider that. F2P MMOs are one thing but D3ain't a MMO and treating it as such could be a huge misstake.
for you it makes a better game..yes
for me i really dont care if i play offline or online, aslong as i can play. i i cant play that game well then to bad ill play something else
Yeah, I think you're right. Pricing will probably be similar to how the pricing for SC2 is. I wouldn't expect crazy discounts you see in most games. Probably not less than $40 by time the first expansion arrives.
I just can't envision Free happening with this type of game ever. Blizzard, or any company for the haters out there, is are not trying to break even to keep the servers up. Profits are the motivation and...*gasp*...does not mean they are EVIL GREEDY people... (They maybe evil...but not because of profits, it's probaly their parents' failing... )
They literally have a money farm set up in the form of the RMAH. To exclude players from using that system, at least in the long term, would be stupid if their goal is to make money.
Right now it is exlusive to people that are willing to pay $60. At some point, the price will likely go down. No one knows when this time will be, but from a purely financial point of view, it makes sense to try and grab as many people as you can and pull them into the money farm.
The truth is, we just don't know how popular the RMAH is going to be. But if it is popular, then expect to see the price drop in order to include more people into the money farm.
