ZeniMax Files Dragonborn Trademark

Skyrim publisher ZeniMax Media has already filed a trademark on the dragonshout sound Fus Ro Dah, and now the publisher is continuing to lock down its property by trademarking the word Dragonborn.

According to the trademark ZeniMax filed, Dragonborn is any “individual who has been born with the blood and soul of a Dragon, but the body of a mortal.” The application is currently waiting for an examining attorney to look it over.

We reached out to ZeniMax for a comment on the trademark, and the company said that it was merely protecting its brand.

    Tnis may cause an interesting clash between Wizards of the Coast especially if the Dragonborn are playable in Neverwinter Online.

    As long as Dragonborn existed as a Wizards of the Coast trademark before Zenimax/Bethesda, there's nothing Zenimax can do about it. Personally, I'd love to see Zenimax get their asses handed to them by WotC ( or anyone else for that matter ) after the whole "Scrolls" fiasco with Notch.

    I love the Elderscrolls series, and the games.

    And I love Minecraft....

     

    ....But I have to agree with you, that whole thing was just sooo stupid. Tradmark the word "scrolls"?!? *shakes head*
