Let me preface this by saying that I like Diablo 3, and I don't mind Inferno, despite it basically being artificial difficulty through number inflation. I don't care that some mobs are basically unkillable, I don't mind that bosses are piss easy and don't drop crap, and I'm cool with how unbalanced it is depending on your class.
The one thing I do mind is the Valor buff, specifically how it goes away when you change your build. WHY THE HELL DOES IT GO AWAY WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR BUILD. I mean, there are so many possible champion affix combinations that there are plenty of bad guys where you want to devise a special set of skills to go and take down. The ability to alter your skill set to fit a specific situation is not only one of the strongest points of the D3 skill system but one of the only ways to encourage REAL difficulty where the player has to think of a new strategy to overcome a challenge over FAKE difficulty where you just make all the mobs hit 20x harder.
Why in the name of all that is smart would you PUNISH non-cookie cutter builds and encourage run farming by making the stacks disappear when you change skills or passives? Is there ANY reasoning behind this besides trying to pigeonhole people into an inflexible build where the best solution to mobs your build can't handle is to kite them into a corner and die/respawn. Honestly I am baffled.

agreed.
Well, this was sort of done to make happy all the people who complained about DIII lacking permanence due to free respecs and lack of attribute points.
I.e.: damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Personally..I think the goldspammers are the worst part of DIII.
This doesn't really do anything though, because you still lose your stacks when you leave the game. There is no real "permanence" about it unless you count a couple hour farming session with one skill bar as permanent.
Honestly if they where going to make it so punishing in Inferno (the one difficulty that actually requires effort) to change skills, then they should have just gone to skill trees to begin with. Why have a flexible skill system if you are ruthlessly discouraged from ever utilizing it.
I got what I wanted out of Diablo3. I got exactly what I thought: boredom after nightmare. But, I knew it was coming. I just don't think people should have misconceptions about D3. It's the same monotonous grind Diablo 2 was... but worse.
While i agree, but blizz made a draw back on that one...
See if a particular combination of mobs killed you, you would then change build according to the situation and MAYBE greatly swing the tide in your favor which in turn equals easy High Quality loot becuase of the Valor buff.
Blizz crazy reasoning seems to be, pick your best build, and we'll bless you with good luck (Valor), then if a mobs kills you it simply means that the fault isn't in you build or mob combination/abilities, but its becuase your not geared enough and its recommend you farm the previous Act etc..
This sounds incredibly reasonable to me. Not like beating Vortex Invulnerable Minion Fire Chain will be a cakewalk regardlessof what you do, but the ability to swing the tide in my favor by analyzing the situation and changing my build seems like a no-brainer, and being rewarded for it makes 100% sense to me. High quality loot because of the Valor Buff should be given because you adapted to succeed, and not because you are overgeared or reset the game until you found an easy champion mob.
Come on guys, we all know the worst part of D3.......
Its the server down time, and im not saying this to bash D3. I Love the game, and yes I am playing it.
It just seems like every time I log on, an hour later the servers are coming down.
I really dont have anything else to complain about.
i heard Diablo 3 dont have the option to WASD movement. THats the worst part of Diablo to me, and thats why i wont touch that game. I like the videos ive seen after launch, but i dont touch games without WASD movement.
I was playing League of Legends a lot before Diablo 3 and now Diablo 3 screwed up my whole LoL skill. I'm clicking and not moving! It amazes me how fast one can pick up a control scheme. Same goes with the WASD, Diablo 3 doesn't need it and to be honest, I've a hard time imaging Diablo 3 with a WASD control scheme.
Worst part of Diablo 3 for me is the event skipping. The cutscenes are all nice and stuff, but skipping them gets annoying after a few times. Plus, I heard some bugs can arise if you skip certain cutscenes (dual Izual for example, I don't want to run into two of them on my HC wizzard).
You can have kinda WASD movement if ya want, bind the move key to the W and press to move. Move the mouse to the direction ya want to move in
"All expectation leads to suffering" Buhhda
I too like the game but this should be the item on everyone's list. This and SERVER LAG during my SINGLE PLAYER experience. Now, don't say its solo play not single play....bah. There is no one else playing with me. I am not passing other players as I run across the fields. It is SINGLE PLAYER and there is LAG. This is my biggest beef.
OH, also that mini game they put back in with the last patch. You know the one where you have to troubleshoot the game before it will start and search for solutions like a scavenger hunt on the forums. They had this mini game in at lauch and I was happy it went away but they put it back in with the last patch.
As I said, I like the game but if they really wanted to promote the online experience as OK it should be seemless, especially during the single player experience. With server down time and server lag, it is no where near seemless.
Simple answer really.
All the bad design in this game point to the fact that you need to get better gear from the (RM)AH.
NV = Lose when changing skills
=> Play with sub-optimal build to be able to beat as many elite/champs *fixes you can.
=> Need better gear to compensate the loss of the optimal build
=> (RM)AH will you give you the better gear!
I had a guildie in Tera who told me that D3 is just a money milking game for Blizzard and people are gonna get screwed so hard with it. I couldn't believe him at all and I kept saying D3 is going to be awesome. The truth is that everything I hate about D3 (Inferno) could be solved by putting in 200$'s a month and buying the gear off the auction house.
All the bad design in Diablo 3 isn't actually bad design.
It's designed for RMAH.
Waiting for Torchlight 2...
The worst part of Diablo 3 is that it was designed around the Gold and RMAH Auction System. 99.9% of the drops you get while playing are absolute junk, because Blizzard wants you to use the Auction Houses. Not my words, Blizzards.
This ^^^^
Why would anyone buy gold in this game ?? It just about rains gold.
Don't get me started on the Power Leveling spam.
Also I am unable to block the spammers with ignore. I click on their name and block them but I still see them.
Don't tell me to not join chat. If I don't the game kicks me out after about 5 min.
If I could get a refund I would. Blizzard has really go to hell. Pun intended.
I hate to see what is going to happen when the RMAH starts.
