The Darkfall team has announced that a new promotion will be rolled out to entice former players to return to the game. The Ultimate Promotion event has begun and will run during specific dates in July.
We are happy to announce our ultimate Darkfall promotion that features:
Epic skill-up increase by 20x, 4x global loot, and village control points go active every 6 hours.
Return to Darkfall promotion for 2+2 days for free.
Get Darkfall for the price of the subscription
The subscription fee reduction to 9.95.

It would have to be really cheap to bring me back at the moment..
After the skill gain weekend last year i maxed my character out and got bored soon after as there was now nothing to do.. PVP on the EU server was basically dead and I could not be bothered to move to NA..
Might bring my alt back to life would give me somthing to do i guess..
Anyway considering DF2.0 was suppsoe to be ready years ago I dont think we will be seeing it until next year at least..
There is a lot to explore in this game. I played for almost a year and I've never seen the place where that screenshot was taken. I don't have any idea where it is.

but yeah its a massive game, played it for a good couple of years now

The way I'm reading that quote, DF is going to be F2P from the 29th. No purchase required and no sub fee. Can't get cheaper than that
Good to se this promotion going out. Little late though, I think. I got 2 1/2 years out of Darkfall, and had a blast. Won't be going back, though, not even when Darkfall 2010 comes out...
You misunderstood it. No game purchase is needed to create a new account and the sub fee will be lower. Also they will let old players play for free from the 27 to the 28. So:
New players only need to pay the sube and are good to go.
Old players can play for free for 2 days.
Ive been wondering about this game. I investigated Mortal Online and found out that DarkFall is somewhat better of a game if not, a company. I just havent had any reason to start playing as everyone says youll get deleted or something when DarkFall 2.0 comes out.
No there will just be a reduced sub fee, game will be free to pick up tho..
There might be a character wipe, infact I would go as far and say there will be... but.. They wont all of a sudden just delete your character or anything. They will probalyl give you a ton of meditation points to spend on your character or some other way to transfer skill points from the old game.. So its not like all your efforts will go to waste or anything..
Yeah I read this yesterday on their blog. This could be fun, if plenty of players return we could have some good battles.
This may gimme something to do besides Diablo 3 whilst I wait for Darkfall 2.0!

As a new comer, this is VERY odd. I get the game but will need to keep on paying my sub after the promotion is over. And I DO NOT get to taste for free the v2.0 game. So what if the whole point of me joining is V2? I am lost here ... !

The funny thing about Darkfall is that as long as there is plenty of people playing it the game is good fun. I had 2 great years in this game with epic battles and conflicts. And small scale group fights can be even more epic than the bigger ones.
I hope Darkfall will survive! But my faith in the company is long gone.
I might come back for this event.

Until Tasos is fired, I wouldn't feel comfortable giving the company access to my financial information.
I may open a sub to the game once the promotion kicks off.
I think Darkfall is an exellent game, but...
I'm holding my fire until Darkfall 2.0 comes out.
I don't want to spend time getting even more attached to a character to then see it wiped.
There is no guarentee of 'compensation' - in fact, there shouldn't be any 'carry over' to make it as fair as possible. Darkfall 2.0 should be a clean slate.
Maybe theyll change the UI for 2.0 because the old DFO had the worst UI ever.

Again, without effective skill caps, this game will remain on most people's ignore list no matter what else they do with it.
Amazing that the devs can't figure out that simple fact.
It was an alright skeleton, but it should have been fleshed out so much more. Hopefully they'll get it right with DF 2.0. Also their item and equipment system need a complete revamp.

THey are changin the UI and the way skills are limited. Those were my two pain point as well and I can't wait for them to fix them in DF 2
So is DF 2.0 going to be a standalone game or is it going to be a patch for darkfall.
I am thinking of resubbing. Just nothing out there to keep me on atm. At least I liked this game at one point and quit before I hated it. Would be fun to max out too.
