I tried for 7 days Tera online trial and i must say i am very very impressed with Tera graphic, it is maybe the best looking game around. But i expected so much from Tera pvp because all of this mmo sites praised Tera's pvp in to heaven. But cmon! Are you serious??? Beside that childish Elin race it is worst part of the game and even quests in Tera are more fun then pvp. No moving allowed when you cas spells?? Tera's pvp looks so broken and so poorly designed and for me is the worst one from all games i tried. What a waste of the potential . Finally some game with awesome graphic (what is most important thing for me) and such a bad pvp. You can still do it guys, just allow characters to move when they cast and remove that Elin race.

"Finally some game with awesome graphic (what is most important thing for me)"
Oh no
What pvp mode in tera are you talking about? Have you participat in GvG?
Well that was short. Let me guess--Still Ultima Online fan, right?
I sense someone's motorically challanged?
Anyway, give it a go. At first, animations stoping you may feel very un-natural if you come from games letting you run and spam. But listen my words and give it some time (if you like it otherwise). You will get used to it, maybe even love it.
it is not about mode, gvg, 1vs1. It is about how bad are pvp mechanics, how you cast and how you move.
Well it is not natural for me. When you fight with real swords do you stay on place all the time when you try to hit your opponent? Well no, you move.
Nope, WoW/Rift/Tera fan actually.
But I do judge anyone who says "graphics are the most important thing."
Sorry to anyone who thinks that, prepare to be judged.
Just out of curiosity, why does not being able to move while casting bother you so much? I honestly can't think of a single game off the top of my head that does allow it. Well, there is a class in RO that can, but it's a skill; it's not part of the core system.
You should be able to move a bit during combat, but not the kind of running and screaming "hurf durf" like people would expect. Even DDO has too much of that, it's a joke.
The fighter class (dual wield swords) lets you move a bit while belting out normal combos, can basically spin around a target, but at a reasonable pace. Also can dodge roll, worked out nice. I also liked lancers, but they have more of a forward momentum. Sorcs rule in PvE, but I dunno about PvP.

Teara pvp is awesome. Are you serious???
I know, what a joke! I always run around and shit when I cast my spells IRL.
The actual PVP combat is pretty awesome, specifically at higher levels, but the simple fact remains: in this day and age, to charge a sub-fee, you HAVE to offer a little more substance in your PvP content. Battlegrounds, open world PvP objectives, Guild vs Guild wars with actual meaning/consequences, etc etc.
They are on the right path, they just need a little more substance. Well, in my opinion.
I didn't like the pve or the pvp. As a pve fan, quest hubs are a thing of the extreme past, archaic. These devs really need to get on the ball and find a way to give you objectives without all this talking. reading, or standing around getting twenty things to do in an area and then rush back to turn in, especially in games where communication can be long distance, this whole running back to turn in thing is old news. And what is it with the restrictive combat, make it unrestrictive it's always more fun that way.
So let me get this straight... your mad about the Elin race? Did you not check out the game before you downloaded it?
I mean, its an asian MMO and "normally" some of their aesthetic choices are questionable to some. For future reference I would do more research before you click the download button be it a trial or a purchase.
As far as pvp goes, not seeing any complaints about it, and the root mechanic for casting spells has been argued to death all over the forums
I feel the same way you do. I guess it helps when my gaming started with text-only games in the early 80's + D&D.
Game Genre > Game Mechanics == Game Lore > Graphics (roughly)
I wonder if anyone done a study to analyze the imagination potential of the newer generation? Games leave little to nothing to the imagination any longer. I'm sure it's not the only medium where this is true. Just a random thought.
Graphics are the most important thing for op guy...
just no

Yes i did know that. But i expected that only few people would play this race and on the end i was surrounded by little Elin girls with huge weapons screaming like mad. Well it looks just stupid to be killed by little baby girl And about pvp according to you i should not even try to expirience by my self how it looks
Well dude i started with my gaming on spectrum 48k and yes graphic is one of most important thing to me. Graphic, story, pvp thats my holly T. And if i want imagination i read books
Equating cast time abilities (not spells, abilities) to offensive moves that you deliberately put a lot of power behind..
I don't know about anyone but while I could probably run around swinging a sword.. if I really wanted to focus a strike with all of (or most of) my nerdly, qwerty-empowered, might, I'd probably plant my feet.
I agree that the lock felt a little unnatural.. I'm just saying that it makes sense in a practical way.
Most people, too, would stop to draw the bow string all the way back. Actually, tbh, most people would stop to fire a bow period.
Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug.
12 Million People have been meter spammed in heroics.
People also become mostly stationary when swinging a sword. Standing in one spot an entire fight is silly, but its not as if you can run around in circles swinging with both strength an accuracy.
...wow.
You need to play more games. A lot more.
I lost the OP at the "graphics being n1 priority for him " thing.
I did find the ranged classes skill side effects quite annoying. The kickbacks and flips and such. It does seem counter intuitive that in an action oriented game, you stop to perform skills. That's why I quite enjoyed the warrior.
1. You can move while casting some spells, you just dont' start off with the ability to do so, as this game is an RPG there is progression. Here are the glyphs in the game. It helps if you do some research before you over react and go nuts. Sorc acutally has the most mobility in the game. Which I assume you are talking about...
2. Graphics should be after gameplay, mechanics should always take priority over pixles.
3. If you don't like Elin, don't play Elin, There have been child spirits in nearly every incarnation of mythology throughout human history. Cupid is a baby, Lets look at the child spirits in asian culture or even Tinkerbell. Why are Elin suddenly unacceptable? Oh right, because you yourself have a problem with them. Seems like the problem is between the keyboard and the chair.
