Carrotsan seems to be more interested in economics then video games.
Really? You don't say and I have a website dedicated to my gaming. Not to mention a streamer. Really? And I know java, c++, accounting, busn laws, corp finance and auditing standards ... interesting ... ?
With all those skills here you are bashing tsw in a thread about CEO resigning. Odd isnt it
Not bashing at all old chap. Just stating the obvious and the truth. Say if I know that an IPAD will explode if you cross a certain country border. Wouldn't you want know that disclosure or you rather want to die not knowing if you do somehow coincidentally do so happen to do that act.
Johnymmo is a pretty good guy he said I should be the TSW advocate or president in a PM. However, I do agree that most MMO players do play many different types of games. Infact, I have a webcast/stream as well. Like I stated before I didn't put TSW on it because I won't recommend or denounce it. Most of the games I play are console PvP.
I do beg of posters to keep this on topic, as this is about the CEO's resignation a day before release. It is in fact an business issue, so keep it at that, please.
Well, i don't know about other gamers, but i'm very carefull with how i spend my money. I know i like TSW. All i'm waiting for is a price drop and knowing for sure if there's content in all of the zones in the out-of-the-box disc.
If so, i don't intent to rush it. I have my own reasons and ways of how i'll play TSW, and, like i said, if it's all there, then i'll get my money's worth. The future of the company and it's CEO is not my concern, but i do hope Funcom doesn't go bankrupt like 38 Studios just in case things go wrong and everything works out for them.

There's some people posting about some 35$ offers, but i didn't check as i alrady have mine. might be worth taking a careful look.
The existing areas don't present a drop in content quantity nor quality up to current "end" and we didn't have access to a lot of content in Beta, that they were keeping under wraps for release. it has been a pleasant surprise all the story elements that weren't there when testing, factional missions and all the "new" investigation missions that i've found so far.
Resigning any position at the launch of a major product is worrying regardless of what industry, there really is no other way to slice it.
Ask yourself : If you were the boss of a company that was launching a product you loved, would you resign on the eve of its release?
While it doesnt spell total doom for TSW, something obviously went down at Funcom that he didnt like/didnt want his name stamped on it as the #1 guy responsible.
Yeah, there is. It's called "no big deal.' I'm beginning to think that Forbes should be manatory reading in High School. Get some exposure to how it actually is, not how it's imagined.

Last time, I heard a CEO resigning by the name of "Steve Jobs" in Apple due to terminal illness, his predecessor wasn't able to keep Apple's stock prices up. Not to mention, he didn't have the mind of Steve Jobs to keep the money flowing. Now, JPMorgan's CEO is as well going to see the resignation doorway soon. If this doesn't say anything; I don't know what does. Congrats to those who were willing to stay with Chase bank, I hope you do know what you're doing and I hope you know about the new rules about trying to close your bank accounts; expect more money taken outta ya.
In addition, special notes: I wouldn't recommend these banks atm: CITI and Bank of America. There's been lots of buyouts in the past years like Wachovia, Washington Mutual, ... These are the willing facts I'll offer and the rest I'll leave it to you as homework since, you all love playing TSW. Here's the TSW game I'm leaving on you for free. Quest for the answer.

Millage will vary form player to player.
Price dropped by 3 bucks on amazon. Maybe wait more longer for another drop?

A CEO doesn't resign from a company the day before they launch their new product they've spent 4 years working on and advertising. Unless he can no longer continue in the position as CEO effectively (ill health, corruption, scandal involving drugs and/or sex, incompetence) or the company is about to fail hard and he wants his neck off the chopping block.
Even if by some stretch of the imagination none of what I just wrote was true and he really does want to spend time with his family, it is a given that everyone will assume the above is true and the company he works for will suffer accordingly.
If you want to be a fanbois and say everything is fine and this is nothing out of the ordinary and TSW will be wonderful with fairy farts and rainbows then that's your decision. But please don't get mad when someone points out how it is in the real world outside of the Funcom dream/nightmare.

Maybe people should learn to read!
He doesn't resign and leave the company! That would have been a completely different matter.
He only resigns from his CEO position to take a different, less demanding position, within the company. He still has a jitload of shares as well.
If you read more carefully, than you would have noticed that he wanted to resign earlier, but wanted to wait till TSW was released.

last time i heard that, the individual should have been focusing on their game over this.

So this was all planned and settled long ago.
This thread has run its course.
