I to would like to know. I don't really want to pay for TERA since I see it going to F2P in the near future. Vindictus is just, well, boring. And Dragon Nest is way to kiddy. Anything else out there that has real time combat?
less in the way of action and more in the way of RPG theres Darkfall and Mortal Online.
they both have the sort of combat where you don't just target something and spam hotkeys at it.
I have never played either one beyond the free trial though, Darkfall didn't seem to have much of a UI or PVE game and MO was first person camera locked so i didn't play it at all.. not saying they are bad, i just didn't really try them.
Dungeon Fighter Online- A 2d mmo, akin to the action games in arcades. A nice little gem, really. A multitude of classes to pick, albeit gender locked classes (slowly they are getting Male/Female counterparts). Thus far each of the basic classes (Male/Female Gunner, Mage(M/F) Priest, Slayer, Fighter(M/F)) each have 2-4 jobs to advance to, which then advance again. If DFO isn't your thing...
Rusty Hearts- Another nice action mmo, feels a lot like Castlevania/Devil May Cry. There are currently four characters, so yes it is Gender-locked (my guess is for story/voice acting sake) there are avatars that you can buy in the Cash shop to change 3/4 of the characters "to another one" ie. Angela, pretty much the mage, has an avatar that allows you to make a young male character known as Edgar, mostly the same in every way, other than the obvious gender/age etc stuff. The music and graphics are well done, and for once the story is actually interesting. Not liking RH either? Then you also have...
Grand Chase- 2d beat em up, out of all of these, this is the one I've personally invested the most time in. I find the characters interesting and fun to play. The dungeons are rather...boring at first, but as you go on you'll find that getting a new character/reaching that next level is quite fun. The story is intriguing, but it gets extremely jumbled after the characters depart the second continent. There are...16 characters to pick from, each with 4 classes (bar 4) I won't lie though, the game is heavy on the pvp. Dungeons are just so dang easy that pvp provides the challenge etc...The community is iffy, if you just join random rooms, it depends (I found that late in the evening the nicer bunch comes out) If you stick to making/joining the topics for pvp on the forums, you'll only run across the nicer side of the community. I'd give this game a go, but if you don't like the mechanics you also have...
Elsword- Grand Chase's little brother, same devs, some speculation that the main character is the little brother. I failed to mention that Grand Chase isn't heavily based on comboing the opponent to death, more so with tactfully moving and sending in a slight flurry of blows/skills. In Elsword though, the play will find themselves quite unsuccessful if they do not learn the basic combos and as they progress the more advanced stuff for maximum damage. As with each of these, Gender locked classes as well. Elsword sports now 5 characters, each with 2 class branches, 4 of which have another class after, the newest will receive his next advancement later on. There is also going to be a third branch coming around for each character as well. The gameplay in Elsword has to be the most entertaining out of all of these 3. It has the best feel to it and it isn't too pushed towards PvP or PvE, it has a rather nice balance.
That is all I can remember currently, I hope I was of some help ^^
Personally i like DCUO best, if you´re intoo super heroes and action MMORPGs a must, greatly improved since release
i have been very pleasantly surprised each time ive played DCUO. so i second this for action mmorpg's.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

A new action MMO called Continent of the Ninth Seal is in open beta now.
It's instanced like most other action MMO's, but they're so big they feel pretty open world.

Wow no one mentioned Fallen Earth or Darkfall yet
