The Tynon team has revealed a new race that players will encounter in the game. The wily serpents will make their appearance soon!
The original creators of Evony, now working with the studio uCool, today revealed another new race and set of recruitable characters from the upcoming story-driven online fantasy RPG Tynon. The Staa'shesk are tall, reptilian creatures who lack complicated emotions and possess the most basic instincts: anger, fear, hunger, and greed, which leads them to view other races as inferior. While they thrive on these basic needs, the Staa’shesk can be extremely deadly for their cunning and can easily outsmart our heroes if they do not tread carefully.

They're willing to admit that they created Evony? Does this mean that we can expect ads for Tynon soon that have nothing to do with the game, but feature pictures of scantily-clad women stolen from other sources?
Craaaaaap....I was so interested in this game until they announced they created Evony. That's a hell of a red flag. Ugh, but turn-based combat >< I so want a game like that. They're one of the few willing to give it a shot, so I'll continue reading up on it but...damn...soul crushed, just a little bit.
"Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions."
I was looking forward to a turn baded game too, haven't heard anything about Evony, but now you guys have me scurred!
Check the game list. There are 216 games listed on this site with enough votes to have a rating. Evony has the very lowest rating, and by a large margin. It's more than a full point below the third lowest rated game, and there are only 14 other games (out of 215) within three points of it.
Evony is best known for its ad campaign. They'd grab pictures of scantily-clad women from other sites, and then add text saying "play now, my lord" or something to that effect. The pictures would have absolutely nothing to do with the game, and basically took the adage "sex sells" to its logical conclusion. Some games will have concept art or home page graphics designed for sex appeal, but Evony didn't even get that far, as they stole images off of sites that had nothing to do with gaming.
The game itself is trying to knock-off the Civilization series, though it does so very badly according to those who have played it. They basically seemed to be testing the concept that all that matters is having an aggressive marketing campaign--and the game itself doesn't matter.
If Tynon is from the same people who brought us Evony, then I'd expect it to be a complete disaster. Advertising that a game is by the same people who brought you Evony is much like advertising that a movie is by the same people who brought you Battlefield Earth.
If you want a turn-based game that is actually good, you could try Wizard 101. It aims for a younger audience, but at least it does it well.
evony ewwww i guess ill still give it a try =S
