PlanetSide 2: Beta Delayed

According to a series of tweets from John Smedley, the PlanetSide 2 beta will be delayed slightly to give the team more time to "make sure it's awesome". The beta is likely to begin on Friday of this week or Monday of next.
Had planned for today or tomorrow but we have some stuff we need to make sure is awesome

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.
By going by that tweet alone (I know little about this game) it sure makes it look like the beta is definately a marketing stunt instead of a beta.
Aren't most of them these days? Weekend Beta "events" for Rift, GW2, TSW, etc. Rift and TSW had fairly large closed beta testing as well, but the "open" betas were little more than marketing. Oh, and almost forgot TOR and the weekend betas for that one as well.
I wasn't implying other games don't do it as well. But the way thats been said.. if it isn't awesome they better be ready for a lot of negative reactions. The beta excuse just won't hold up. I do hope it is awesome though.
Wonder if the noobhammer is as broken as it was in PS1...
Ah, so that's why I didn't get an email today saying I got in to the beta. Just glad to have done the method of getting a beta key back when it was running

No, not sooner. Later. Later, and later. They announced the day it would begin and then shafted everyone. Not a cool way to start out. Many of us have been waiting months since they announced this. Some of us have had keys for months. I was even lucky to have all week off until Thursday... now screwed.
So if it launches Friday I'll be working. Monday... be back to work. Good job SOE. Why did I think they'd actually pull through with their word when they said today (or tomorrow) would be the beta release.
ok, a week from next friday it is then!

Good ole Smedley. Not touching anything that man has to do with with a ten foot pole. SOE can put out any game they want, I'll never buy another one.
Good because its f2p lol. I love comments from ignorant people who don't even know anything about the game and hate on it with blind ignorance.

Edit: Because I'm sure after re-reading you'll still miss it. I didn't say I wouldn't buy Planetside 2. I said I would never pay for anything made by SOE. So while the game may be free, I'm sure the typical money sink will cost real money. Which I also wouldn't pay to SOE. As long as SOE is the distributor or creator of the game, it's not worth the investment, even if it's FREE.
TR will have something to say about that:) We know who will win that fight.

Can t wait for this game. I do remember VS hitting us both alot when we were beating each other, cowards, fight us face to face 
I actually remember having fun and friendly conversations with people from other empires through tells occasionally. One time we were just babbling about names.
And I rarely fight face to face unless it's a tower drop. Much preferred support roles and piloting.

Ya, I remember many good convos with enemies. Good there are different styles, I love the MAX charge style
