What will you do in tonights stress test?

Kyus_HoBKyus_HoB Member Posts: 185

So with the final stress test approaching, I was left pondering over my final four hours prior to release.

Over the BWE's I have planned what elements of the game I wanted to see and what I wanted to leave until release.

For the final Stress Test I have three main goals.

  • Train the "significant other" so she doesn't irritate me with questions on release (not her first mmo but she's never stuck with the others third time lucky **disclaimer I d o not force my girlfriend to play online games and not like them she does this of her own free will**
  • Try and work out an efficient way to level each crafting tier with a Material count, idea being, 1-25 refined material 25-50 components 50-75 inisgnia 75-100 discoveries using previously crafted materials.
  • Testing the reliability of certain thief skills that seem to miss too often.
What will you be up to during the final test before launch.

EDIT [ changed the title due to the "It hasn't been confirmed" crew mentioning that this may not be the final stress test.

Run around with the kids, kill some mobs, just enjoy a few hours of GW2 to hold me over 'til launch. Not enough time for a plan and it's all going to be deleted soon anyhow, so pure, pointless fun.

    Oderint, dum metuant.

Try an experiment, only level through unique hearts and DE's ignoring ones I've already done Personal story gathering crafting exploring and anything else that isn't a heart or DE. apparently that's possible.

I'm going to craft as well. Just to see what kind of xp is in it, and wether it's worth it for me to do at launch.

I bought a G700 mouse mainly for GW2.. so I'm happy to have the chance to try it out.

I plan on being at work, lamenting the fact that I can't play while hating all of you who posted before me and those who post after me with plans of actually playing during the stress test.

    I hate you all.

I did a fair bit in last beta, it is very very viable to help your leveling. The way I see it you have two options.

    1.  is the two professions per class which means you won't have to switch and you would need 4 classes for all the proffessions. You get 10 levels per class of xp by maxing them out. I found doing the first 100 points pretty easy and a great source to get you through levels 10-20 at a nicer pacing than the starter zones present you.
    2. Save all your mats in your collections tab and bank for a whole play through, keep a crafting al that learns all the professions. This would effectively level 1 character to 80 and give you all professions (you'd obviously need to farm mats for this but, this way you can have 1-3 al'ts that you play the game with and a bonus one level'd just through crafting.
The advantage of 1 is its casual and fun, and "design intended" so it fits with a standard flow of leveling. Also you don't have to pay through the teeth to switch crafting at higher levels

The advantage of 2 is a free level 80 character and by crafting en masse you can maximise the use of hourly crafting boosts to get to the higher crafting levels using minimum materials.

I'd honestly opt for number 1 myself but its nice to have the second option there and I will likely craft on an alt at the start to give him a boost of XP initially allowing me to quickly access traits and weapon swapping as well as all utility slots.

We will be conducting a stress test on Thursday, August 2 from 12:00 Noon PACIFIC Time to 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time.

Unlike previous stress tests, we will be actively working on the game during the event, so you might experience connectivity pr

oblems or discover features that are not working as designed. Any issues you experience are a result of the rigorous conditions of the stress test, and are in no way representative of the state of the game at launch. By participating in this stress test, you’re helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game. Thanks for your cooperation—we’ll see you in-game! ~RB2

First I will do is make a toon then run like hell around the world without dying.

If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

I'll play League of Legends or go out, cause I simply cannot be bothered to play with a character that will be deleted.

Will test my new control scheme on my Razer Nostromo (binding 1-5 to buttons 10, 5,4,2 and 1) and will test my new Razer BlackWidow in gaming as well (switching to mechanical keyboard).

Will make an Asura to see if i can mange being exposed to the ugly Asura character back for prolonged periods if time, for the benefit of being small and least - targeted in zergs (i plan to play a thief in pvp so i dont want to take focus because of my size).

Will probably spend some time in character creation looking for a good face for my toon (be that Human or Azura).

Will try out pistol+dagger and bow thief properly in pvp (before i seem to have played it wrong, since my bow wasnt very useful and i found that pistol is way inferior to dagger in main hand).

Will finally check out the option of having cooldown text and range text (didnt knew there was an option - i played without it and it was painful...)

Will then have another withdrawal syndrom.... ANET WHY ARE YOU DOIN IT TO ME!?!?!? Ah well, at least i live in Russia so i dont have to skip work to play.
