If you know a serious competative PvPer that plays or used to play World of warcrack arena then you or they probably know the website Arenajunkies. Its the go to source for arena related information and its highly respected in PvP circles, that being said...
Arena Junkies has decided to add GW2 to the site, they have never added any of the new hyped out mmo's not even swtor whos PvP was modeled after WoW's bg's. Bascialy they believe gw2 isnt hype its actualy the next big thing for competative PvP and I think its fantastic news to hear that so many top lvl PvPers are taking the game serious that they are going to help drive the community forward, its a great read go check it out.

gw2 pvpers rejoice?
thats funny,i think you mean gw2 pvpers get disapointed.eather way, lets all hope that the lack of a gear grind keeps the wow kids away.nothing can ruin an mmo faster then a bad community, and world of warcraft isnt exactly known for its good community
well eather way,i wont be bothering with guild wars 2 if the wow community tromps thru it and the game tanks like star wars the old republic did.dont really feel like wasting 50 bucks on a game with a garbage community like wow
really??
well,i played wow for years.it had one of the worst communitys maturity wise ive seen in a mmo
My experience has been the opposite. I found everyone to be helpful.
same people give me a friendly rez all the time even my pet if I play ranger... game encourages people to play together so well and its been working great so far
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
which is why the wow community shouldnt be wanted in the game.considering not everyone wants to tolerate a bunch of immature kiddies which the wow community has far to many of
I played all the BW, didnt find a bad community tbh, but people dont talk or write in-game, i mean did you remember that old game called ¨lemmings¨?, well it was something like that, so i dont really know. However the community in GW2 beta forums was way better and more realistic/objetive than here on mmorpg.com.
About the PvP, GW2 is an E-sport MMO, like it was on GW1, LoL or even Mechwarrior Online, i mean you just need to make a character level 1 and play tournaments, while the WvWvW is casual the SPVP will be competitive.
I think you are a bit confused. You seem to be classifying the "WoW" community as a single entity when infact the WoW community is just a huge portion of the mmorpg.com community. They also played Everquest, they also played age of conan, they also played DAoC, they also played Tera, they also played SWTOR, and they sure as hell will also be playing GW2. Get over it.
i dont really need to play the game to decide the community is bad.i played world of warcraft for years,i know how bad the wow community is
i guess not only are the wow community immature but there also stupid to.when i say world of warcraft community,i mean the community playing the game.i could care less what the community is like on the world of warcraft section of mmorpg.com
Good thing there's two modes of PvP, Tournement style and WvWvW.
What you are talking about is the later.
I'll come to the defense of any game if the opponent is spewing biased incorrect nonsense against it.
Claiming somone is a fanboy for calling you out on clearly having an agenda just makes you look worse.

I've found most people will help rez you. There is always that one person that will run right past you or come look at you and /laugh, then run away, which makes me laugh. Just like in real life, some people help others, some people are selfish idiots. That's their prerogative. This is why helpful people can form guilds of like minded folks.
I agree. Not to mention any other new games, but one recent release had a particular horrid community. Every GW2 Beta I have been involved in holds nowhere near the trash community I have seen in the recent past. It may change on release, but the chat channel is pretty much empty except for questions. I did not see one comment on other games which is a sign that the game you are playing is keeping you busy and you are having fun.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
What does any of this have to do with the topic of the thread which is arena junkies embracing gw2 pvp as a competitive model?
Yesterday, during the stress test I was just bouncing around with a new character. Not really playing but just checking stuff out. Here is a video of my crappy playing style and not really paying attention to anything. Video. About 1 minute in I start picking on a mob I shouldn't and I thought I was going to be killed, just like I would have been in Rift, WoW, or Tera. People pass you by and watch you die. But in GW2 people seem to help one another!
edit: the guy that helped me was completely random and I hadn't even noticed him. I didn't even know he was around. After he helped me I stood there kind of in awe as he helped me!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
if theres anything that guild wars 2 needs less of,its elitist douchebags
and thats pretty funny they wernt impressed by any pvp.that just goes to show how stupid the wow community is.considering how terrible wow's pvp is
Stopped reading at : World of warcrack.
Still the biggest mmorpg on the market, why would you even say that?
