Glad you like it, it took me a while to past the character creation screen, everything was so hideous. But once I got into the game I realized the character creation was the best thing it had going. Could not delete it fast enough.
I just gave it a try since it has free to play option now and found it unplayable and here is why: The movement is really bad specially jumping is like omg worst of worst. Tried combat next and was doing ok at firsr then suddenly combat became laggy it took up to 4 sec at times to see a action go. I agree the world looks cool though but ugly characters which makes it look like a 2001-2002 game at best. Also tried EQ2 once and I dont see a difference between EQ2 and Vanguard.

not really suprised - vanguard isnt one of the new games where graphics and animations are more important then gameplay
Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
daoc had one so does EQ2 techincally but its zoned so its hard to really tell . Heck wows world if wasnt zoned would be huge to . Vanguard might feel bigger if everytime you hit a zone tile you didnt have to freaken lock up for 30 seconds.

yeah you are right, i forgot about eq2, that is probably bigger, quite possibly significantly bigger. dont know about daoc, i dont usually play pvp oriented mmorpg.
edit: oh and eve is for sure a lot bigger light years bigger
So far the game is amazing. I'm rerolling as a Paladin and enjoying being in the game world. One of the best feelings is knowing that this is a persistant game world with vast land masses to explore.

Not to burst your bubble or anything but this statement covers almost every game on this site.
Still if your enjoying a game then that is always a good thing.
While I enjoy playing Vanguard when I do, I've never understood why people care about a "persistent world" in PvE games (particularly themeparks) where the choices you make in game don't result in a change to the game world.
Whether or not it persists while you are logged out, the game's PvE content will be exactly the same the next time you log in- the mobs you've killed respawn (bosses as well) and the cities and landscapes will still be the same.
Persistent worlds only seem meaningful in sandboxes where the world actually changes while you're logged out.
Playing again as well. Tried the rogue but was too squishy, so switched to the DK and love it. Grabbed a spider mount and some ncie looking appearance gear and my DK looks pretty sick. Cant wait to get to the right level to buy a boat and sail the world!

actually i have to say i dont know any mmorpg (well maybe besides haven & hearth, but thats another story) which has as vast world as vanguard has
or at least it feels a lot bigger then in any other mmorpg
