Why my girlfriend can't kill anyone in wow pvp but in gw2 beta she destroyed players with elementali

    I bet they call it easier because you have 11 skills to learn, the ones they saw on the action bar and dodge. Not including the weapon swap/action bar change/elementalist and engineer way of changing out skills... So from a screen shot and maybe a few videos on PvP, it's clearly easy.

    Easy answer is easy; the game is new, everyone sucks. Elementalist is a glass cannon, it hits hard, but is easy to dodge. Unfortunately, people suck at dodging right now and haven't learned to pay attention to the environment, so Eles (and Necros if built right) own everything with very little effort. Within a month of solid play, that won't be the case.

     Chess is a game with a low skill cap.  I've been playing board games since the 1980s, and I've played multiple games of chess.

    Let's do a quick comparison with Monopoly, which is a game with low skill cap as well.

    Monopoly amount of players 2+, chess 2 = chess easier.

    Monopoly can only go bankrupt once, chess can 'die' multiple times = chess easier

    Monopoly has dice and cards, chess does not = chess easier

    Monopoly has resource management, chess does not = chess easier.

    Etc.

    I like you.  You ruthlessly use impeccable logic, and I'm glad you call people out who disagree with your brilliance for being the fanboys they are.  Don't let anybody tell you that there's any possibility you could be wrong.

    I just think more of a game design.  In certain game its impossible to kill some one more skilled/geared than you.

    But in certain game you can still kill people more skilled/geared than you, just that you have a much lower chance of doing so.

    That one i can answer.

    It is easy in wow to get pvp gear. even gladiator the top gear. It is so easy , you can eat and drink while doing it.

     

    Just run lfr dungeons ( End of Time ) and lfr raids ( 25 man versions like : deathwings etc. )each week till max valor then exchange them to conquest. 

    Then once you have enought get a piece and keep going till max geared. Should take just  a few weeks prob a months and a half then full geared.

     

    It is that easy.

    Perhaps she is better than you think. Gear can be a major contributor to being average and being superb. She is on an even playing field now. Congratulate her and make her a nice candle light dinner, she may kill you next. o.O

    Man, a well-geared and well-played warlock can own ANY class AND you just said she had a rogue, well....I cannot think of two classes MORE different than the GW2 elementalist and the WoW rogue....seriously. 

     

    Maybe she just found the right class for herself, or even the right game.  You act like it's a miracle or something or like something is wrong with the game.  Maybe she's just more compatible with the GW2 elementalist than a WoW rogue.  And maybe you're feeling a wee bit threatened since your gf might be able to own now?  Maybe?

     

    For one a level 84 lock isn't going to be well geared.  Also not sure when the last time you pvp'ed in WoW, but a Rogue (expecially in full pvp gear) is over powered.   Resilience is so high, with so much mitigation and self healing available, plus a cleanse (CoS), DoTs do next to nothing.  Which is the main reason I switched to playing my Hunter in PvP, as otherwise it was just way to easy.

    I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it is one of three things:

    1. She is actually having FUN and enjoys GW2, which means she is trying harder.
    2. Skilled players in WoW have better gear and gear > skill in WoW PvP.
    3. You're lieing just to try to bait people with the implication that there is more skill involved in WoW PvP then in GW2 PvP.  In which case, GG.

    I was a wow hotshot back when it first came out, before everyone got super raid geared and used cookie cutter builds.  Tell her to enjoy it while it lasts.

    all I see in gw2 pvp videos are ppl bashing 2-3 buttons

    even my grandma can do that

    no doubt it will draw alot more casuals to the game

    simple game = more ppl will buy the game = more money

    anet just take blizzard route

    Some people just 'click' with certain Professions, who knows.  Mind you people playing in Beta Eveents/Stress tests especially in PUGs are all still learning so she could just be ahead of the game more than most people.
