Only one worldwide server and only one ruleset including full loot. If you happen to get podded (safety pod explodes) without you having an upgraded clone, then you'll loose XP aswell in addition to your ship and cargo.
If you don't like spaceships tho then you're out of luck.

This, though I'd just remove the text in green and leave the rest of that sentence there. You want badass? I've gotten friends to try Eve and they didn't last a day. It is the badass of the badass, with a level of tactics and magnitude in PvP that you simply will not find anywhere else. One on one combat, small gang vs small gang combat, single fights in one area between several thousand players which is one single battle in a war between tens of thousands of players over several months...and there is no "resurrection" ability from a Priest-like ship. If your ship explodes, IT IS GONE.
You can try Shadow Worlds at shadowworlds.com. It's a FFA full loot pvp mmorpg. It also has a skill system that you just don't see in games anymore. You can actually train skills, making you stronger even at lower levels. You can engage players in pvp just about anywhere.

EDIT: Oops, sorry for the double post. Didn't mean to do it.
- Technically not a full loot system, but if you lose you lose your ship and you are actually killed but you have clones that you need to maintain though. Which if you don't you lose skill points (essentially xp) but they're easilly maintainable.
- Not a fantasy game at all, pure SciFi. People claimed SWTOR was SciFi were just deluding themselves, SWTOR is WoW in space with lightsabers... EVE IS a SciFi game through and through. However EVE is characterized as spreadsheet in space so for some/many it is highly boring. Your avatar can walk around in their quarters on space stations but thats about it for avatar movement, rest is your ship.
- EVE is the one game I would say you can have high stakes... the highest stakes in fact. Be it running to a market hub to sell a lot of merchandise only to get suicide ganked, be in a corp to fight for control of territory with no holes barred rules and can lose everything. Lots of scams, grievers, ruthlessness in the world of EVE.
- Unlike other , actually think all MMOs, MMOs that require reflex and responsiveness EVE is not that. EVE is a highly tactical game that is very reliant upon teamwork, more so than any MMO to date. Very operation frame of mind like in the real world.

The thing with EVE though is that
