All they do is reduce the amount of blue you see. Along with an anti-reflection coating on the lenses. Eyestrain is caused in computer use by constantly focusing on a short fixed distance along with not blinking as much as you normally do because you are concentrating on the screen.
Want less computer related eye strain?. Move the screen farther away & blink and change focus distance more often.
I'd rather spend that $350 on a better monitor/gpu so that what I'm staring at unblinkingly is a better quality image.
Beside, if they did give you better vision then you would be able to better see how crappy your monitor is.
A small side story about blue light. Having any blue lights in your bedroom may cause difficulty sleeping. The sky is blue and when the mind sees blue light during the night it tries to keep you awake.
The last job I had required most of my day to be in front of a PC. At the end of most days I would have a headache, sometimes bad ones. I actually went and bought a pair of the Gunners and used them at work.
While the headaches did not stop altogether, it did reduce the frequency and severity of them by reducing eye strain.
As for if they are worth it to game? I dont know, maybe if you spend hours and hours a day in front of a PC gaming they may be. I suppose the pro gamers who do that for a living do get some benefit. For me, who now only spends an hour or 3 a day at most in front of a PC it doesnt matter much.
The headaches were probably a combination of the ubiquitous fluorescent lighting and computer use.
Well..i guess ill just put it in my christmas wishlist n hope someone gets it for me i guess...
I would get the one without prescription but that would require me to be 1 ft from the monitor x.x
