EVE Online: More Ship Balancing Incoming

The EVE Online blog has been updated with the news that the team is hard at work to get ships balanced in preparation for the annual Winter Expansion. The blog post details the changes coming to a whopping forty ships in the EVE fleet.

Things have been going well on the ship balancing front as we ramp up to our winter expansion in the coming months. We began earlier this year with rebalancing combat frigates for Inferno, and then delivered improved mining barges through CCP Tallest. We also gave you attack frigates and rookie ship changes despite summer vacations taking many staff away. That’s a total of 19 ships, which is not too shabby to start with, considering it’s a little less than 10% of all available EVE Online vessels.

    I will be glad when they finally get back to adding the avatar & Station content. Ship balancing is great, but the game is made of a variety of different gamers with different interests. If it didn't appeal to various interests, it wouldn't be considered a sandbox.

    Aye, give proper station content ! I want to open my own Pub on our station ! Just like they showed on one of the videos ^^ Sit down and play that minigame, just after some tought fights in 0.0 :P

    All I see in expansions is ship balance which a small team is doing, what is the rest of the  team working on?

    More than likely Dust 514 integration.

    I'm sure this balance initiative isn't the ONLY thing coming in the entire Winter expansion either.  Here's hoping for some non-Dust related new features that add to the core spaceship experience.

    Edit:  Also, any word on if the POS complete overhaul/removal will come this winter or not?

    POS overhaul is not in for this winter. Never was.

    It's a 2013 feature.

    Free to play is currently broken
