Rift is about to become the new mmo king, it may never rise to wow levels, but with the stupidness coming out of blizz, swtor not so great, and people are going to be looking. I don't mention GW2 because I feel its that much different, while still an mmo GW2 has its limitations as to what players expect, it does bring on wvw combat. With respect to that though Rift quite possibly could make a move to delve into that market as well it wouldn't suprise me at all. I see people talking about quest hubs, for some of us that topic is on the back burner somewhere and so any talk about it just feels overdone. Quest hubs don't bother me that much, I don't view them as annoying, I now its nice not having them, but I feel like people are making a bigger deal than what really needs to be made.

Someone's delusional. GW2 is a great game, yes. But there's a reason it doesn't carry the traditional endgame approach and such. It just doesn't bring in the money to sustain that type of game. GW1, even during it's launch year, made less revenue than CoH even - which is being shut down soon.
huh? GW1 and 2 arent even in the same genre.
Wanna bet which game will make more revenue this year, GW2 or Rift?
This year, sure. But it's the nature of a B2P game that it won't bring in as much as a sub based game.

And to make their game perform better. 1-2 second ability delay while trying to do progression content is extremely frustrating.
The global cooldown of 1-2 seconds feels the same in Rift as it does in WoW. I can't say that I'm fond of it in either game, however, it does seem to be a necessary mechanic. Otherwise you would have to have something like AoC where you are animation locked until the time passes. That feels clunky to me.
I am excited for the expansion. I sort of would like special quest hubs where defiant and guardians are running around ganking each other on the PVP server, though. It really is kind of why PVP servers are fun.

I'm not talking about the global cooldown. I am talking about server lag. There are dozens of topics on it on the Rift forums. The thing is, they can make the best content, have the best classes, the most finely tuned raids of any game out there, but it doesn't matter if the game runs poorly.
If Trion even hints at a Cash Shop that sells ingame items, I'm gone that day. I play this game because they have maintained that Sub fee. I pay for equal opportunity. If there is an item in the game, that I don't have, it's because I didn't do what was needed in the game to get it.
How do you earn the turtle, spindrel and armored tiger mount in game? The cash shop is already there. Its subtle, but its there.

GW2 is planning on releasing an expansion every year as far as I know. Plus they are probably hoping to have somewhere around a million active members. A million active members spending, say, 3 dollars a month plus a million expansion box sales > $13 a month + an expansion every other year from 200,000 people.

Those kind of estimations really don't say much until we wait and see. But I can pretty much bet a majority of the people who play GW2 won't use the cash shop and less and less will buy the next expansion. That's how GW1 worked out, anyways.
Can't wait for the expansion and all it will bring to the game! Still a huge fan, since beta 1. Loving all the new kinds of content on the way. Still amazed at how much Trion adds to the game on a regular basis. Nothing seems to get "old" and I can't see it happening in the future either.
So the effort spent doing Hunt Rifts will have no bearing outside Hunt Rifts vendors? What good is it for the players to have another currency to earn? I'm just wondering why they went for this design.

I believe he meant this "call" as in they will have another call shortly where they will go over PVP additions.
