General

  • Fixed a bug in targeting that was causing left-dragging to deselect/select targets incorrectly.
  • Fixed a bug in targeting that was allowing users to deselect all targets using the select next target functionality.
  • Fixed a bug with human female sword and pistol animations.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing quickness to get stuck on players and enemies indefinitely.
  • Fixed the Mystic Forge recipe for Melandru’s Gaze that was rewarding the Mystic Staff instead.
  • Fixed a potential bug with skill challenge conversations not closing for all parties speaking with the NPC.
  • Fixed a bug in weaponsmith Destroyer recipes being swapped for Valkyrie and Berserker weapons.
  • Fixed the Mystic Forge recipes for platinum and mithril ingot conversion taking cloth bolts instead of the appropriate ingots. This also fixes the issue with linen and silk bolt conversion recipes sometimes rewarding ingots.
  • Fixed the Mystic Forge recipe for Immobulus requiring a defunct item. It now requires giant eyes instead.
  • Fixed a bug with Rune of Divinity that was causing it to do 50% more critical damage than listed.
  • Removed laughing audio from crafting stations in Divinity’s Reach.
  • Raised the maximum karma limit.
  • Superior Rune of the Adventurer is now set to give 50% of endurance on heal.
  • The character select screen now reflects hidden armor choices.
  • Updated Rune of Earth and Rune of the Grove to have a 25% chance to grant 4 seconds of protection and 30-second recharge for superior runes, with 45-second recharge for major runes.
  • We’ve relaxed our anti-exploiting system for loot and events.

Camera

  • We’ve updated the camera to reduce the amount of camera smoothing currently in the game in order to lower the frequency of related bugs. We’re still looking into other camera issues, but we decided to make this quick change because it greatly improves the gameplay experience.
    Events
  • Fixed a bug that could block “Escort Order of Whispers agents to Jormabakke Stead” in Snowden Drifts from restarting.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause duplicate versions of Agent Briathell to spawn in Snowden Drifts.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent the repair event for “Cascade Bridge” in Lornar’s Pass from triggering.

Dungeons

Caudecus’s Manor

  • Closed map exploits.
  • Updated the reward vendor for Caudecus’s Manor to include the missing exotic light helmet.
    Citadel of Flame
  • Closed map exploits.

Twilight Arbor

  • Upper Spider Path: Increased the attack range of the Nightmare Tree. The area attack and its effect now take place at the same location.
  • Nightmare Tree Spider Path: The area attack now correctly does damage at the point of the effect.
  • Forward Upper Husk Path: Added damage to the Nightmare Tree’s immobilize skill. Also added damage to the Nightmare Tree egg launch skill.

Story

  • Reduced the health of the final boss in “The Source of Orr.”
  • Forging the Pact: Implemented changes to ensure that the cave section completes reliably.
  • Pets and Walls Make Stronger Kraals: Fix for possible stall during the taming step.
  • Battle of Fort Trinity:
    • You cannot pick up the water orb until you defeat all of the saboteurs.
    • It’s no longer possible to trap players by closing the fortress doors on them.
    • Fixed a stall during “Retake the docks” objective.
    • Fixed a stall if players did not choose a greatest fear earlier in Chapter 7.
  • Lines of Communication: Batanga will now help you fight the Arcane Eye.
  • Fixing Blame: Warmaster Gurnn should now kick off his cutscene correctly.
  • Fixed a rare bug in “Shards of Orr” where Herboza would not become visible.

World versus World

  • The northernmost keep in all homelands has had its collision adjusted on the inner western gate.
  • Numerous items have been disabled for use in World versus World to prevent exploits and imbalances. This includes the Experimental Teleportation Gun, ettin gunk, drake eggs, seed turrets, and more.

  • Explosives Trait Grenadier: This trait now gives a bonus to underwater grenade skills.
  • Big Ol’ Bomb: This skill has been updated to be a blast finisher.

Guardian

  • We are moving towards retaliation being more of a counter to taking many hits rather than a general boon to keep up all the time. We also wanted to improve the combo finisher of the guardian, so we reorganized guardian greatsword skills to the following:
    • Skill 2: Whirling Wrath (10 second recharge)
    • Skill 3: Leap of Faith (15 second recharge)
    • Skill 4: Symbol of Wrath (20 second recharge)
  • Updated Bane Signet and Signet of Wrath so they can’t be fired at targets behind the player.
  • Signet of Spite can now be cast while on the move.
  • Updated Signet of Judgment to apply three seconds of retaliation upon activation with or without traits.

haha knew the pistol whip reduction was coming:)

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

No Keg Brawl fix still makes me sad.   It also makes me sad that the thing I care most about in GW2 right now is getting Keg Brawl fixed and my Keg Master title....

It's a gimmick build that only poor players crutch on to try and achieve success, just like the heartseeker nerf previously it won't effect a good Thief in any way, shape or form.

You didn't really have to be Mrs. Cleo with a crystal ball to predict it was going to get a nerf anyway. The hilarious bit is that HB/Frenzy or Zephyr/RF is just as devastating in terms of burst, and both require less setup to properly land the combo, yet both those builds and there respective classes dodge the nerf bat repeatedly...

    Interesting.

if they gather data like other MMOs they have huge spreadsheets of data showing which skills overall are doing how much damage and how often.. generally they use this to balance things out.. so yea its a gimmick build but its very widespread

I am a tournament player who runs with members from established e-Sports Teams daily. I have over 75 1st Place Tourney finishes under my belt and am easily one of the most prolific PvPers on my world.

I don't need a spreadsheet to tell me what I already know from having observed it time and time again over hundreds of hours of sPvP. Of course it is widespread, that is what flavor of month builds are all about, catering to those who have the least amount of skill and think that with that one, special build that will magically "own".

HB/Frenzy and Zephyr/RF are easily as powerful as Haste/PW, if not more so due to the synergy there respective classes are able to achieve through boon stacking when the Thief does not have that benefit with that particular build.

My guildie will be definately very happy with the fix on the "forging the past" for sure. ^_^

Since it can be only used on npcs (never worked on players for me), the glyph of renewal skill was useless to me anyway .

So it might come handy in some personal story quests if one goes solo but in overall the skill is rather useless in the game in my opinion.

Except if their intention was that it can be used on players aswell cause then it could be usefull in WvsWvsW, sPvP and PvE.

Even if it weren't useable in WvsWvsW and pvp in general, having it being useable on players in dungeons would come handy for sure.

Glyph of Renewal: This skill will now revive downed allies only, not dead ones.

This is now the most useless elite skill ever.

Can't tell about other races but for the sylvari it's not a elite skill, it's a normal one.

I agree however that it's useless though. :(

Actually I am Chuck Norris in real life and I have won every single sPvP and WvWvW I have been in - but only when I wasn't teamed with anyone and running solo....

'Expendables 3 - Lone Wolf in Tyria' - my next movie.

    All true.... really....

    Eh?

This is how it has always worked!

    ********

however.... as Chuck Norris I can use it on myself after I die and it has no cooldown - but I have never needed to use it naturally....

They nerfed both HS and PW, coming up next? your friends favorate move, backstab...

The problem with the thief is that in spvp there is really only one viable way to play a thief, squishy and looking to kill. They need to add more options to the thief if they plan on taking away all of its weapons.

It is nice to see the Guardian and Mesmers getting some nerfs cause they are ridiculous right now.

    About the thief skill daggerwhip:

Skill was far from overpowered as it roots me in place, and is easilly inetrrupted.  It kind of only worked in PvE against stupid mobs.

Whirlpool damage has been decreased by 33%,

As long as numbers like this show up on nerfs, i think Anet has no clue how to ballance things, they are still ballancing single skills in stead of whole classes.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I'm glad they fixed the targetting issue. It was quite annoying.

Necro has a skill that revives downed allies, very useful in dungeon encounters, if they are down right dead they need to res and run anyway.

Stupid thieves are easy to counter and interrupt. Good ones you won't see coming, and they're already PW'ing you once you realize they're there.

You can still do a full on ret build that keeps ret up nearly 100% the only thing that this really hindered was those doing symbol builds. Wrath has a 100% inc on the CD and doesn't last long at all anymore even when traited. Ret builds are fine and just need tweaking to get working again, symbol builds have been hurt pretty bad.

Oh boy..Thief gets another kick on the butt. Someone must really love WARRIORS at ANET as it is capable of destroying anything in its path and still managed to stay away from nerf bat.

And yes i play Warrior and i am enjoying being OP. Thank you Anet. I stand in middle of  enemy like a BOSS.

    Mostly great fixes.

Feel bad for my guardian friends, but they are dealing w/ it. The GS on guardian was a bit strong, and I understand the shift away from perma- retaliation towards a more reactionary boon.

I've gotta say though, surprised noone has mentioned the shortbow change here, lol. It's a great fix, but my god were rangers screaming bloody murder last night.

Lovin' the necro changes, though. Signet of Spite looks like it might actually be more viable now. May weave it back into my power build.

Lol, Warriors are pretty good, but I'd be careful what you wish for. I wouldn't say warriors are OP atm, I'd say they are probably the only class that is more or less in a perfect place atm. They're exactly what they should be. However, in the first game warriors were in a similar position (really good pressure, and could be specced for good burst), and now they are more or less useless. It could happen again (though I hope not).

As for thiefs, they are more OP than warriors atm. Yes, warriors have some really nice defensive skills, but thieves have built in avoidance all over the place. Thieves are one of the only classes atm that can go full offensive and still avoid a lot of damage. They also have a lot of disengage abilities, so they are really annoying to fight in general. When I PvP on my thief I barely have to try most fights. Shadowstep in, spam a few attack skills, port back out. People die fast and can't catch me. The most annoying thing with thieves atm, is the ones that do spec more defensive (acrobatics) are even harder to kill, but still do sick damage.

I think people saw the thief nerfs coming for weeks now. Mesmers also got nerfed a bit too. But again, there's a reason these two classes were so popular in PvP. This was coming for a while now.
