If you did it a year ago then why are you starting from scratch?

Also, a ton has changed since you left so its not actually that bad, and if you really want to you can make lvl 50 in about 100 of playtime, its not that bad.

Trion have reduced the xp needed to get to 50 to allow new players the chance to lvl up to the expansion even quicker, with IA's before this you still lvl'd quick.

Or as previous reply mentioned if you have been to telara before then you will still have your character to the lvl you already had, if your worried about catching up with your skills don't worry about that either as there has been a change to the souls so even players that have been there for a while are having to relearn specs.

New souls, dimensions and a bunch of things are available for people below 50, but its true the bulk of the expansion is aimed at the max level crowd, but Trion has added so much to the lower levels over the last year, its a breeze getting to 50 now a days, I just powerleveled a Rogue to 50 via Dungeons and Instant Adventure.

I started playing RIFT only last week. I did participate during betas and thought the game was ...meh... back then. Now with all the changed, RIFT I enjoy RIFT a lot more then I did during the betas. So far, my mijn char is only level 21, so a long wau to go till I can see the new expansion. None the less, I did buy it with the annual-sub deal because I'm enjoying RIFT so much that I think I'll still be playing it a year from now. Best feature I think that TRION has added is the housing system - can't wait to build my own house!

Its definatly one of the big features in Storm Legion, I never cared much for housing, but dimensions actually got me kindda interested in it, its a very deep system.

Lets not forget the new classes or are they considered part of a patch?

It's an end gaming raiding mmo, this was to be expected.

The classes are part of the expansion, ive been playing Harbinger and Defiler so far, both are fun in their own right, i prefer the Harbinger myself.

Rift is more than an raiding game these days, its evolved quite a bit, theres lots of people who play it without doing much raiding, and theres many alternative routes to improving your character and obtaining gear.

in spite of the huge, revolutionary, genre changing, paradigm shifting, movement away from raiding, there still remains a very tiny niche of gamers whostill want to experience it.
