Yeah Trammel ruined it for me; Ultima Online- My first and only MMORPG. I thought EverQuest was dumb- and the MMO industry has been remaking it ever since. The only reason I come here is for news on any new MMORPG's that won't suck. I've tried MMO's since then- Just haven't liked any. Until then I'm playing PlanetSide; which also sucks now that the gameworld has fewer than 400 people online like 16 hours out of the day.
Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.
My first mmorpg was Guild Wars. Before that I had beta tested games and so on but the first one i actually owned was Guild Wars and its still a lot of fun
I don't know why, But I love EVE. Corp Wars are fun, I like player pirates. Yes it sucks to get all your stuff plundered, losing your ship, and possibly even your life, it adds that certain amount of danger to the task at hand. I'll admit, mining is boring. But it is highly profitable, I recomend it with a few friends so you can atleast chat and have a good time while you rake in the ore. This is probably my favorite MMO. I am also a big fan of EQII. The only reason I stopped playing was because my computer can barley handle it. Once I finish my new computer (AMD 64 3700, BFG 7800GT, Corsair XMS 1GB DDR) Which should be finished hopefully by the end of next month, I will be re-activating my EQII account so I can raise my sword for Qeynos once again! Arg!
DAoC, and I still play it to this day. Iv'e been playing for a good 4 years and I STILL haven't maxed out a character yet. I stay with a class for about a month until I get bored and switch to a new one. My grades plummet whenever my computer can play it (Not a good computer btw, top of the line 8 years ago, works on and off). Its on its off stage atm.

The first one I paid for by doing odd jobs around the house was Sea and Navel Battles on Compuserve in 1984. It cost $6/hour to connect to compuserve at that time.
Before that when I was 5 years old, I played a space game at my Uncle's house. He owned control data and was hooked into what was the beginning of the internet. It was amazing to type at people, pilot a star ship and fight all done at 300 baud.
EverQuest was my first love. But my sweety half want me to work and have a big bad plan for me to raid instead of having fun, so I dump it.
CoH is my last love. But turn out to always reduce me, always make me feel like I am worth less and less. Dump it before I feel miserable and start lacking self estime, to bad, this could have been so much better.
Try a few others while I was drunk, but when you sober up, you dump them. I feel some remorses for Horizons and SoR, dumping them this fast...a little like if I abuse them. But for FFXI, WoW, Matrix and DAoC, no remorse at all...I feel they abuse me while I was drunk!

Well besides text based MUD's in the early 90's I would have to say my first game was Meridian 59 back in 1996.

Nexus : The Kingdom of the Winds was my first back in '98. Have been around some since but I missed the drama from Nexus on other games.

Anarchy Online.
Loved it Haven't touched it for a couple of years now.
Star Sonata = one of the most underadvertised and funest mmorpgs out there
My first MMORPG was Redmoon online. It was an absolutley terrible, awful grind fest of a game but back then I loved it.
