Now, first of all, i'm gonna start with acknowledging that most mmos nowadays are pay2win; But having said that, there are different degrees of pay2win in a game. I remember another game from gpotato, ALLODS ONLINE, not sure if you guys are familiar with it, but the degree/extent of pay2win in that mmo was terrible. Rivals, Perfect World Entertainment games.

Game does look interesting, and appealing at first glance, but i'm worried it will turn into a major pay2win fiesco.

Some people will never let a company mistake go. Gipat was a disastrous Allods patch and thankfully the game isnt like that so much now. Keep in mind that AoW is over 10 million strong in China. Everybody, hopefully learns from their mistakes.

If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.

Allods Online was a disaster, not only because you had the policies themselves in place, but because gPotato and Astrum Nival (developers) kept pushing the blame back and forth on who was responsible for everything from the cash shop prices to the thought that players wanted fear of death (temporary death debuff) replaced with cursed equipment (permanent armor debuff), and by the time they got everything in order about a year later, the community had already moved on.

we can only hope that they have learned from the past.

I play the game and they changed all that over a year ago, game is about as f2p as modern mmos get now.

Those of us still playing can only hope that guys who haven't played it in 2 years will eventually stop whining about the Gipat patch

Its too late for that title, players move on. Rarely do ppl go backwards in the timeline with regards to choosing an mmo to play. And to add to that, 99% of mmorpgs have a shelf-life, aka player-attention-span; new mmorpgs come out all the time. Players these days are spoilt for choices, once a game company makes a mistake, very very rarely do they ever make a comeback. This is not the era of UO (ultima online) where players had like what, 3-4 mmos to choose from.

Which is a damn shame because Allods Online is a legitimately good MMORPG in the vain of WoW. Drastic changes were made, but even now you still need the shop to stay competitive in end game and that's not even talking about PvP.

Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.

I will never again play a game under Gpotato. They have truly shafted their playerbase out of the love for nothing other than $$$.

I do however have an interest in this game. I hope the NA hosting of the game works out well. I still distrust most f2p at launch games until proven otherwise.

    You stay sassy!

Sadly the gpotato name will keep many people away.  They have a consistent and notorious reputation and they will have to prove this game does not fall into the same mess as the others have.

I wouldnt judge by Allods alone since in Russia where this game comes from it was originally very donate heavy game. Actually it had the most rediculous limitations and prices ever which drove off alot of players. Maybe developers demanded from gpotato to follow
