the perfect fishing game

I've played a number of mmo's haven't really found one that has the perfect balance in fishing.

Here's what I'm looking for:

1: fun fishing mechanic, eliminating the problem of other players interfering with the bobble or being in a pvp zone and getting wacked suddenly while casting.

2: great rewards. I want something that will drop useful/fun items like gear or potions or crafting materials.

3: props. sometimes I like a few props so play at RP while fishing. like a parasol, a chair, picnic basket, campfire, camp gear like a tent.

4: outfits: to extend the feel of the fishing exprience would love some appropriate attire. I loved my plaid shirt and overalls in WoW.

5:  adequate crafting: would love a game where the fishing added to the crafting in significant and fun ways. Like cooking and making foods that do silly things or that improve gameplay thru buffs.

Anyone have an idea of which mmo has the best of these features?

Ultima Online has extensive support for fishing.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

MMORPG Forums: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

Just noting this subject is good.  I have yet to see fishing done right but I guess the best one I encountered was FFXI where fishing really mattered a lot.

My thing is.. I grew up on batwing crunchies in EQ..  Fishing needs more of a purpose then just for fun.. Both EQ and WoW had fishing and the product of that fishing was food that could be used by players..  I love how different fish gave you different benefits.. But FOOD and DRINK need to be in the game..  I miss EQ's food/drink requirement, and I want it back.. Sure you can go buy vendor food, but it won't have stats and it will be overpriced for what you get.. I do like hos Blizzard had "schools" of fish that lasted only a period of time.. Give players the ability to ride a boat out to middle of lakes and ponds as well
