So they were lying before bout it being a mistake?
Also you need Jtls expansion to even be able to play post NGE too
This part made me laugh:
W e're giving Star Wars fans what they want an accessible, fun online adventure that starts where Star Wars : Episode IV left off, said Nancy MacIntyre , senior director of Star Wars Galaxies

Im going to make sure I go to every site and give this product a bad review. And also let anyone know who's considering buying it the history behind it.
Course thats probably pointless as anyone interested in the kit will be a console kiddie and could care less about being lied to. However if I can prevent even one person from buying it, I'll be happy
I don't see a price.

Not sure what Nancy's smoking, but that statement is a cry for help !

Okay, so this is how it works with my /buttseks scenario.
I decide at some point during this current year to buy Star Wars: Galaxies.
I look on the shelves, and what do I see? THE TOTAL EXPERIENCE. Comes complete with every expansion in the game, so i should be getting a bargain. Right?
Woops, they are making major changes to my game play the entire time. I think they are good ones, so I'm not going to complain, I'll just learn2play and shaddap.
Then they decide, in the middle of all these changes, to come out with a full expansion. WHICH btw, costs just as much as the Total Experience I just bought.
I buy that too.
2 weeks later, they are making MORE major changes, without saying "May I", completely changing the entire concept of the game that I just invested all that money in. All this during a single 6 month period.
NOW, you have...The Starter Kit. Another $20.
This doesn't add onto all the other bullspit, but is THE COMPLETE NEW GAME. So I just invested 6 months of game account, and another $63 for boxes....and they are going to change everything and sell it for $20?
I want my farking money back.
(personally I don't care, I got lucky and bugged out in time, but if I were you guys I'd be asking why the people that came up with this idea aren't having their guts displayed to the players right now)

I agree. I got out in Nov 2003 and never looked back. But I can't help thinking about that Squad Leader or Creature Handler who faithfully stayed with the game for 2+ years. Promised fixes to their professions. And after 2+ years and a $500+ investment (if they bought all the expansions), they're finally getting their fix:
SOE says, "Your toons are gone. Enjoy. That will be another $14.95 please."
I've never been so jaw-dropped at anything as what I've seen this game turn into. A year before SWG released, I was telling non-gamers about it, and they were even impressed. And here we are in 2005, and they turned the thing into a console game. I'm still shocked.
edit: I wish this site would fix the Quote option. It really sucks sometimes.

It's not the quote option. The Database server's connection is floopy. Suspect it needs a serious processor and RAM upgrade. I think the ASP code may need serious tweaking as well because it often forgets to add quote statements around sub-quotes and REALLY screws up when quoting links.

So what is the starter kit? I guess I'll have to re read it again, because i scaned threw the first time.
All I can see so far is that it includes a free ship...
EDIT: Okay so I read it again and came to the same conclusion... So what is this starter kit and what is included?
Heh I think the general reaction to your reviews will be "Haha, pwn3d."
Tiggs actually responded to what she said about the Starter Kit on Amazon.com, at the time it did have the wrong description (KOTR at the time) and it was a mistake by Amazon. No, it wasn't the full details, but it wasn't a lie either
Wepps, you do not need to buy the Starter Kit to continue playing, this is a free patch to those that already have the game. The Starter Kits is simply a package of all the game with all the patches up to and including the NGE (the base of it anyway, the new stuff going on TC at the mo will probably need to be downloaded) which includes JTL. The Total Experience is still a better choice for new players, if it's still going to be sold that is and if you're not on dial up:)
If you can wait, I suggest doing so until the 15th. You could start now, but you'll end up having to learn two completely different combat systems in a week lol. Plus, the new starter quests and everything is really good for new players. For the time being, install now and download the patches
You don't need to buy anything more to play the game, what you have now is perfect.
Its actually not ASP, its written in cold fusion.

I would start prior to the 15th, and work my butt off to get as high level as I could. You have a week and with 4 dedicated days you could probably make it to level 80 if someone takes you under their wing.
This would allow you to get 10 respecs, which means that if you decide you don't like the class you picked you could change it.

Although they have recently announced you will be able to create two characters on the same server (in the near future).

I just tryed the new enhancments on Test Center, and it's definitly bringing me back, it is sooooooooooo much funner now, combat is excellent, and the proffessions are excellent, the quests are fun and engaging. I am so happy, i played SWG for over a year, and left after the CU, but this CU will definitly bring me back.

It isn't just for those who buy the Starter Kit. Everyone with a level 80 character will get 10 respecs from what I understand... someone will correct me if I'm wrong about that.
so if your lvl 1 you still get 10 respec's?
