Since I've always been interrested in SWG, but never quite actually got the time to test it out.
Now's the time I guess, I just hope I haven't missed the "good" game out of this new NGE.

Got the same problem. It works if you make a new account though. But you can't start playing now. All servers down and long update ahead.

anyway maybe for the better i use a new account else maybe they delete my toon on my canceled swg account
Hmm, I have to agree with the person before. I might try it but I dunno, what if i Missed the "good days" of SWG that happened before the updates today.

Some of the smaller servers are now up. Tempest for example, is already up and running
A few more should be up in the next two hours. The bigger ones (like Bria, Ahazi, Chilatra, etc) probably will take the full 17 hours of downtime to be ready.
As to if you missed the best times with SWG, I dunno. For new players starting befroe, you really needed to have alot of patience or already know someone in game to help you along. Credits were hard to get, items were hard to get as you had to buy them all (and due to number 1, that was hard) and the workings of the game were never very well explained. Basically you were throwen in a desert and told to survive lol
Now tho, everything is explained, all the things you need at those lower levels are provided as you need them (altho you'll be able to get better from a player crafter).
I just tested the changes. I must say I rather enjoy them. The only thing I can complain about is that you can select the Jedi class from start.
You can start as a JEDI?.....

Gonna give it a week or so then try the trial on my 'dummy' station account

Well SOE just shot themself again in their own ass , the trial only let you play at the puny spacestation , if you try to leave it says you have to subscribe for SWG , like WTF ?!?!
10 days for that little station ? , ive tried 2 professions and only took me like 5 hours,
damn morons should give us 10 days full free game instead to cheat us.
Sure the combat was kinda fun , but if i really want a fps game i play quake4 not swg or some hybrid rpg with planetside stuff.
Thought i had 10 days of free swg fun while i waited for DnL SoG , but nooooo.
If this is the trend of SWG it is going dead withing 6 months.

why even bother with trying to get to lvl 10 , from what i tried , the commando seems to be the new alpha class , the granades really gives the extra dmg , read on the SWG forum that a commando almost took out a jedi and a another toon by himself untill a BH came. and i can tell you that all melee stuff is gonna be useless , unless the jedi can sneak up on a range dude and backstab him with the lightsaber.
So you can see all the content up to level 10?
Tweaks will be happening over the next few weeks, it's not like everything is set in stone from this point on.
SWG is no longer an rpg. It has been reworked into a quick shoot em up style game, somewhere between a FPS and an RPG.
I am quitting now, sony has given refunds to the people who preordered the latest expansion. The day after being billed for it they announce the game changes.
Jedi are no longer a force to be reckoned with, today i have killed 30 jedi by myself, and hadly had a scratch on me.
I do not suggest playing and i feel bad for you if you wait through the download to try it
