EverQuest: 14th Anniversary Fete Kicks Off

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that the EverQuest 14th anniversary celebration has begun. The fete includes in-game events, five player-created quests and epic weapons quests that will be a permanent addition to the game.

EverQuest at 14, did you know:


  • There are nearly as many NPCs in EverQuest as there are people in Tampa, Florida:The total population of Norrathian NPCs is well over 344,935!

  • The oldest characters are more than twice the age of the oldest person to have lived: A day in EQ is 72 minutes; that said, a character that was created when the game launched on March 16, 1999, is 280 years old this year.

    Damn! My paladin is over 280 years old haha 1998 beta and still have him interesting , might have to go back!

    I was able to keep him , I volunteered for the gm program back then you had to take a game knowledge test, I had to do at least 20 hours per week, I dropped it after a year so I could experience the game as a regular player with my pally.

    Now we can play all classes and races as f2p players so I logged on and created some alts....For some reason I just didn't feel like playing.

    Starting fresh is tough for sure.  Mercs make it easier but its still hard.

    They're decent if you turn everything on, but hey i dont play for the graphics, If I want eye candy ill go to the strip club lol.

    Whats weird about EQ. Is that I'd prefer to play it with all the Luclin character models completely off. or not play at all. The graphical upgrades really did nothing for me. I just like the nostalgia look.

    Hahaha eye candy+ strip club I like that! I know I don't play for graphics either but I don't know,..it doesn't feel the same as it did in 99.
