Ive tried posting on the DnL forums but im still wiating for my forum account to be acitvated :/ So i tryed looking at sum of theyre forum QA's but still couldnt find the exact answers im loooking for.

1) Why did they make SoG and DNL? I mean in the QA they said sog is like a gift to the community... but why waste millions of pounds developing a prequal to a game that coems out a month or so later? (DnL) Or will you require SoG to play DnL?

2) Is this game really going to be as good as it clainms.... i mean it just has too many features, sort of too good to be true.

3) Has any1 here played any beta phases and can tell us if it is actually any good? Is the pvp clumsy? Can you attack a Dark,Or light player as soon as you see them? Will necromancers have summons?

thats about all for now, id of posted this on the DnL forums but it doesnt let me create threads :(

    1. SoG is really an "open" beta, though they pass it off as a "gift to the community." They tell us we don't have to do bug reports, but in my opinion we are just "testing" the game. If someone has a problem with something, it will be fixed so in reality we ARE testing it, just more discreetly than an open beta. They aren't wasting "millions of pounds/dollars." The release of SoG is basically DnL prequal. They didn't develop it seperately. DnL doesn't come out for another 6-7 months and probably longer after they discover bugs from when people start playing SoG.

    2. I believe the game will be good. It has a dedicated development team and so far from all I have read and seen I can conclude that it will probably be AWESOME. I have been waiting for this game for years, I am very excited about the release of SoG in the next two weeks.

    3. No one will answer this because there is an NDA. If someone DOES post something, it will be deleted by a moderator here since they respect the NDA of each MMORPG development company.

SoSo the actual game we will pay to play isnt out for another 4 months? :S

Will the characters from sog get wiped, or are they transfered over to the DnL servers? How can i get hold of sog cus i hate hearing about a game and having to wait 4 months to play it :S A

And why are they taking open beta applciations for DnL if sog is basically the open beta of DnL O.o

ty for the answers though, greatly apreciated

Not quite sure you understand hown these things work. SoG really isn't costing them much. They garner information and feedback from the community and the server spaced used for SoG will be reconfigered for DnL when it comes out. Nothing is wasted.

The characters will be wiped. But SoG is basically "building" a story for DnL. DnL will take place a millenium after SoG. Player cities and other big things created by people playing SoG will be transposed into the DnL world. We are literally "settlers."

SoG will be released within 2 weeks hopefully. More information will be released this week as to when it will be released. You can find current news on www.darkandlight.net.

Where did you get 4 months from? DnL will not be released until quarter 2 next year (April or after).

DnL BETA will continue while SoG is going on since they still need to "test" things with a small controlled community. Those people are still under NDA and can't speak. They may still let people into the DnL beta, but SoG is pretty much DnL beta just the "open" version meant for you to have FUN... The beta isn't designed for "fun" but rather "testing."

just my opinion here but they are releasing SoG for a couple of reasons, the primary of which is that the main game does not have enough content that people will pay for. I also think SoG will be used to balance the characters and as others have speculated to test features.

I posted this thread a week ago or so. It basically sums up why I feel that the game will be good.. it's not really opinion based. It's more based on facts that we know about the game.
