My awesome MMO game...

Lord.BachusLord.Bachus Member RarePosts: 9,686

The game is simple, if there where 3 game syou could choose features from to create the best MMO possible, which MMO´s would you choose?

1) EQ2 ,

because of its races,  its content, its diversity in content, its advanced form of trinnity (more roles then just 3), its raids, there is a dungeoncreator, its guildsystem and guildcontent, its implementation of housing, the number of classes, its awesome AA system. the adtuall fact that people can change factions,  the incredible lot of quests and stories and lore in this game. Their crafting system. their Dungeon finders and group finders.

2) GW2,

the actuall combat mechanisme of dodging and aiming and selecting. the WvWvW areas, with sepperated PvP, its sPvP  (tough i would add more variations), its dynamic events in wide open world. their mini games, their graphics, their character annimations, their payment model and the way their shop works.

3) SWTOR,

its IP, their main questing stories, the way they handle instancing, the choices characters make, their companion system with relations and depth and such,  Flashpoints,

Tough there are a lot features i would love to see from other games, these would make the core of my favourite MMO.  As much diversity as possible would be my motto.

So which 3 games would you choose to make that near to perfect MMO?

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Errr can I choose between other MMO'S?

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

Read the very first line in his post... if you could choose 3 MMOs... which would you choose?  His choices were EQ2, GW2, and SWTOR.  You're not limited to his choices, you're free to choose any three...

My kinda MMO would probably be something like SWTOR story telling with more consequences for choices, Aion combat and challenging NPC encounters with a bit of TSW/GW2 freeform movment in combat with TSW open skill trees. so I guess that be SWTOR, Aion and TSW that i'd choose for my three.

    SWG - dancing, crafting

    Defiance - guns and engine

CoH/V - movement and travel powers

    TSW - puzzles

    GW2 - graphics polish

Scarlet blade - bouncy physics engine (kidding)

That be a pretty great mmo there, but we was only allowed 3 :(

Well I dont think i would pick and mix any but..

I would want the following games to be picked up by devs who know what they are doing and have more cash to put into the game.

    Darkfall

    Mortal Online

    Xsyon

GW2 - polish, easy to get into, awesome B2P model and I like the concept of dynamic events.

WAR - even though the graphics were outdated, I loved the way my chaos characters and in particular my marauder and magus looked. I would love if I could play a game based on that particular art direction.

RIFT - SOUL SYSTEM!, passionate developers, lots of content updates and I like the SL art direction a lot.

Also, I HAVE to mention DAoC. Give me the things above and DAoC's RvR and Darkness Falls and I couldn't be happier.

Funny thing is, I wouldn't use features from typical MMOs to make a fun MMO, I'd borrow from console games, and many more than 3.

funny thing is, you would use a great majority of features from typical MMOs to make a fun MMO, otherwise it wouldn't be a fun MMO.

    A: "Typical"
B: "From MMOs". Much of what's in MMOs isn't from MMOs to begin with.

Breaking a rule, since neither of these are MMOs... and the combination wouldn't be one either.

NWN Bioware's coop RPG + GW1 style multiplayer.

    I'd play it.
