Like the title suggests, after scouring the interwebs for hours and even going to aionsource.com , I cannot find an answer anywhere. Does this game support PVE content as well as PVP. I cannot stand PVP, but find the world of Aion interesting
ofc there is pve in the game. u can do quests solo, u can do dungeons in a group or kill world bosses in raids. but the biggest raids are the rvr ones. dependin on the population of the server u can also have raids with 400vs400 etc.
Pvp with fortress control objectives is kinda limited to specific alarm clock operations with each site in the world vulnerable for a short window once a day or so, although there is a general pvp area.
Pve areas are generally safe with limited windows opening into them periodically in one direction once a day or so. They tend to be camped by high levels obviously, and only a limited number of peoplecan pass through the portals before they shut. In short, if you want to pvp much, you have to become something of an expert on game timing mechanics, and be willing to sacrifice your free time to conform to these tiny windows.
As in most mmos, pvp seems to be an exercise in masochism. Bizarrely, Aion has an equivalent of the trammel server where there is no pvp risk, and double xp all the time. Not much logic there in terms of risk/reward. Of course, NCSoft is currently laying off whole divisions of the company. It probably has something to do with them believing that 40-50USD is a reasonable price for a mount, or 10USD for a costume. NCSOFT: No-Common-Sense-On-F*$($#-Trade
Co-op pve doesn't really even exist early on as there are no dungeons before L25, and attendance to them is pretty sparse. Leveling is fairly fast in this game, so even legions aren't going to be bothered much with them until end game. They are mostly skippable anyway in terms of the quest grind.
