Ok so I'm looking to build a new PC for the first time and I could really use some help/advice.
Basically I want the most bang for the buck. I have a sorta low budget as I have never done this before. I would like to keep it under $750.
I'm trying to play GW2, Defiance, and maybe TSW on the highest settings possible while still maintaining decent FPS(40-60).
That being said this is what I have put together so far. I think everything will work together, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm pretty sure it will all fit inside the case as well, but confirmation would be wonderful.
For the case I'm looking at this primarily because it has a 500w psu already in it
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1256381
that being said, I'm willing to change it and the power supply if it is too small/ not powerful enough.
For the hard drive im looking at something small because i have a 1 TB external hard drive that i use to store most of my stuff on. I know SSD is much better, but im not sure the price is in my budget.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136771
I'm not sure how many fans I need so I only have one currently listed(the case already has 3)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
For the motherboard I chose
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157280
and I would like to use this as my CPU(I like AMD, not much of an intel guy)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103962
Now for a GPU I can't decide between 2 options(I'm leaning heavily towards the 7850)
this for the price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202011
or this for the power http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102998
For memory I would like to use this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231422
Thats basically what i have selected right now, but I would be greatful for some help/suggestions.

You may get some decent build opinions by posting what your budget is for the pc.
I can tell you that the case/psu combo should be a no go. That psu is not even rated. No way I would choose to buy and use that.
As I said I would like to keep it under $750. Do you have any recommendations for a decent case and power supply? Is 500 W sufficient for the parts I have listed?
500w PSU should be enough if it is a decent PSU, not sure abut the one you listed.
You could try http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1278872 seems like a nice combo with a certified PSU, although I would recommend you to get a Fortron or something similar but those are pricier.
As for the CPU I'd go with the cheaper and older Phenom X965 a much faster processor with some serious overclocking power even on air cooling.
Doh. My bad, i missed the $750 in the post. been a long day lol.
Take a look at these parts, $800 with $25 mail in rebates. So close to what you want to spend and with some better parts.

Thats $775 after rebates, has an SSD and OS ( windows 8 64 bit ), better RAM, Better PSU.
You may can look around and find a better SSD for the same price. Thats a samsung 840 ( non pro ) someone else may can tell you if there is a better one at that price & size.
a 500w of a decent psu should be plenty, of a crappy one no it wont.
The case and psu I listed is cheaper and has a better psu.
No. go with the new FX cpu's if your buying AMD. The x965 is not a bad cpu, but not what I would buy today. And you can easily OC the FX if you so desire.
Yup it is.
I had 2 combos in the cart and posted the wrong one, the fx 6300 combo is now linked.
And actually has another $15 MIR. So after rebates will be right at your $750 budget.
I do not know AMD that well, so here is something quick, but using a cpu/mb combo they have up, I dont know AMD well enough to help you there.
I5-3570K/ASUS P8Z77-LK combo $290
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1270852
Corsair 500 W 80+ bronze ps $69.99 (plus 20 rebate, to make it 49.99 after rebate)

The ASRock 970 Extreme3 is a good mobo. Its what I use on my machine and I have had no issues at all out of it. So far your build does not look that bad. I would go with a 700 Watt PSU for like $60-$70 and then pick out a case you like within your budget.
Raidmax is a good PSU. But I have had issues with the power cable being crappy in the latest one I bought.
My machine I run a Raidmax 700 Watt PSU, 970 Extreme3 Mobo, Duel 7870's in Crossfire, 8 gigs of DDR3 16000 Ripjaws, 160gig SSD Drive, 2x300 Gig HDs, with Phenom 2 x 6 at 3.3Ghz. So far its been a good machine.
So i notice you posted a 7850 as a GPU, but it has 1 GB of memory. For 10 bucks i can get the one i posted. Is there not much of a difference?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202004
vs.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161406
Also, did you mean you recommend the FX 4300 or FX 6300?
Much better
However if you really need to shave a few bucks off the x965 is not a bad choice as it can easily be upgraded down the road when you have some more cash to spend, might even want to do that and save up for the 8350.
6300 is the better choice
Also go with the Asus Card a much better brand than the one you listed
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121651
Go with the 6300 for sure. It was my mistake listing the 4300 combo. Especially since the 6300 is actually cheaper after the rebate.
Go with the 2gb card over the 1gb. Honestly I am a bit worn out from a long work day and didnt even notice it was a 1gb card. Its always good to check what anyone posts anyways. Mistakes do happen and you are always more perceptive when its your money being spent.
Good luck with whatever you choose
edit: and I personally would go with the asus that was linked a post or two back. Same price and I have the asus 7870 so can say its done me well.
So would it be alright to use a PSU like
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159128
instead of
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151094
The one above it has more power and is still certified.
I would go with the seasonic personally. I have them in my systems now and I trust the brand. I dont know anything about the other brand you linked. Maybe Quiz will chime in and give you the ins and outs of PSUs. I went with gold rated seasonics when I built. They are a bit more costly but were worth it to me for the quality.

No SSD, but it is $740 including shipping and before $30 in rebates. And that gets you an FX-6300 and a 2 GB Radeon HD 7850. If you prefer Windows 7 rather than Windows 8, it's the same price, so take your pick.
As has been pointed out, the power supply there is junk, and the FX-6100 uses the Bulldozer CPU architecture that was basically broken. The FX-6300 is the fixed version (clocks higher, uses less power, and would perform better even at the same clock speed).
An AMD FX processor will come with a decent enough stock cooler, so you don't need to get an aftermarket cooler for it if you aren't planning on overclocking.
With an AMD FX-series processor, you can skip the aftermarket cooler and just use the stock cooler. That will almost squeeze you into the $750 budget. I'd also go with a different SSD, as I'd worry some about write endurance on a 120 GB TLC SSD. You can get an MLC model for about the same price.
You're completely missing an OS and optical drive, and that will push you way over the stated $750 budget.
If a "700 W" power supply is $70, it's probably a piece of junk. If it's Raidmax, it's probably also a piece of junk, regardless of the price and nominal wattage.
A Coolmax power supply? No. Bad idea.
The standards for 80 PLUS certification are pretty low, so just because a power supply passes certification doesn't mean it's good. If a power supply can't get certification, though, it's highly probable that it's quite bad.
If you do go with the Seasonic power supply, you might as well grab the combo deal with memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1291664
With the combo discount, that's 8 GB of good memory for $43.
I am a computer technician, and i can tell you dont waste your money. for 750.00 your going to be building something that will make the new games you want to play run like crap.
I can offer advice on parts but i cannot act6ualyl look for them on newegg for you as i am at work.
Optical drive- doesnt really matter to be honest. only major diff is if its bluray or dvd.
HDD- 500gb hdd would be your best bet just to be safe- try to get western digital or seagate. Hitachi is terrrible
PSU- i tend to go with corsair as i have had the best customer service experience with them. 750w would be more than enough for future upgrades, but you may be able to sneak by with a 650w
CPU- i dont know much about AMD as im intel person. IMPORTANT! IF YOU PLAN TO OVERCLOCK, DO NOT GO WITH THE STOCK CPU FAN THAT COMES IN THE BOX. I WOULDNT USE THAT THING EVEN IF YOUR NOT PLANNING ON OVERCLOCKING. JUST BUY A NEW CPU FAN. thermlake has some good ones. MAKE SURE YOU USE ARTIC SILVER THERMAL COMPOUND.
Case- This depends on how much your willing to spend.
GPU- This is where you want to spend the most money IMO. Get a good one that will last you for a good while. The MSI 660ti Power edition cards are monsters! They work so well. If your going with amd graphics cards, Find a place that has the card you want, but gives you free games with it. I know some locations offer bioshock infinite and tombraider when you buy a 7850 or 7950. Cant remember cause i dont know about amd much.
RAM - Corsair is still the best at ram imo, but kingston is good as well. Read reviews and then judge. You wont need more than 8gb. There are hardly any games that will utilize more ram than 6gb, but i say 8 just to be extra certain.
Motherboard - I'm an asus fan. Make sure your board is compatable with your chipset. Please dont fall for all this random crap about pci 3.0 and let people try to sell you 3.0 boards and cards. There is no need for them at this point, and games that will utilize that speed are probably still way off. Some companies offer discounts on boards with the CPU. So take a look for deals like that. I know microcenter has deals like that.
If its your first computer, i say wait till you have 1200. Do massive amounts of research before you buy anything. Then once you have read reviews, looked into all aspects of what features a motherboard has that you would use and not use, same with the graphics card, case, and everything about your build, THEN start building your computer. Dont be sucked into people recommending parts and stuff when they only have basic experience about how to build a computer.
I also have the 7870 run them in crossfire and havent had any issues with it. (Other then some games dont like crossfire setup)
Mine was abit more then 70$ and so far it hasnt been a piece of junk. It runs two 7870's in crossfire without any issue what so ever. So I dont know how you can say its a piece of junk when it does the job and has been for some time without any issues.
Its 109$ now http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152043 That is the one I have.
