I play(ed) Scarlet Blade. I like it b/c it is a sort of tongue in cheek
silly fun game that happens to be a bit pervy but because it is meant
for adults that's fine. HOWEVER, the problem is the mass number of
young kids who are playing. Whether it is level 16 whipper looks like
she is wearing a strip of duct tape as underwear (or maybe bush, im
still not sure on that) or the 'puzzles' where a in three wishes u
have three women on a man who is squeezing the girls breast - I am sure
this should not be played by kids. AND your lame birthday check in does not stop
anyone.
Think I am exaggerating! See the yellow line in my screen grab. 11 yr
olds are playing! I am an adult, one who has spent money, I liked the
idea of a kid free zone.

If none of that bothers you (and u are cool with the whole pedo/legal
thing, ewww), then consider that you have lost paying customers.

Yes some parents are bad, but as a gamer community, shouldn't we care as well? I like the idea of an adult game - but if companies are not going to take the underage thing seriously, then dont release them. Scarlet blade is no longer fun for me, it is just sad and the company, well they are rather sad as well.

EDIT NOTE: I am being selfish here - yes I am not a fan of the pervy + kid = gross thing, but I also really liked the idea of an adult game. I dont want to be anyone elses parent, but am aware that the state (I live in Ca, USA) often takes stuff like this as illigal in any non online related context (we all know the old guys in the state house have no clue about mmo's) there would be arrests. Our lil 7/11 or AM/PM stores could be shut down/fined and the person at the register sent to jail for what this game is doing. Hence I dont want to be a part of this illigal activity either. Like most things in life - it is not a single motivation. To be fair, I thought I should list this as the discussion is really getting into other areas. And for the record I did quit - and, if it matters, I am a girl - well woman anyway.

Are you trying to say loses ? Or that once kids get involved they get loose ?
Well it is a cultural thing. The top people at Aeria Games are Asian and they view nudity different then we do. i.e Anime most anime will have some form of nudity in it now a days. Use not be that way. Usually it is over bountiful bouncy breast.
I do agree that this game is very close to soft porn and in all honesty it is not a game for me. I can only imagine that the FBI could prob find a few pervs in this game if they wanted. Or maybe they can send in Anderson Cooper.

Most that become popular in the west don't have it. Anime here is for "kids" There saying that would be the equivolent of someone in the west saying games are just for kids.
I have to admit that It has been a long while since I have pick up any kind of anime only because it seem to me at the last time I went anime shopping at my favorite store many of the boxes for blue ray or dvd for that matter had a TV-14 or a TV-MA label on them.
The last good anime Ive seen is Cowboy Bebop and yes you are right it had nothing as far as nudity goes. Thankfuly.

Why not worry about your kids, and let me worry about mine. That's the issue these days, people nosing around where it's none of their business. If their parents are not bothered by it, why would you even care?
My little brother of 12 plays call of duty, and has probably seen more porn than i have. He makes wonderful grades in school, has plenty of friends, doesn't do drugs, and has a vocabularly that shocks me everyday with the depth he seems to have a grasp on it.
As such, he is allowed to do what he pleases. He's tried both ciggarrettes and alcohol in his life, was quite discusted by them and now know's he doesn't want to do that ever when he gets to the age where society deems he should be able to. He doesn't hide anything from our parents or myself, and is not afraid to ask about something he doesn't know anything about.
He has two guns, a rifle and a handgun, has been certified and knows the dangers of them
I was raised the same, and am a successful father who doesn't cheat, have my own clear cut ideas on what i want out of life, have been married almost 7 years this year, straight out of highschool with a woman i love, who treats me right and respects the man I am.

if I showed a kid in the park what they are showing online, I would be arrested. Just saying- the only reason that this game has not been shut down in US is b/c most the officials would not even know what mmo stood for.
As you should be. The kids in the park aren't yours to take it upon yourself to show things to. That's their PARENTS right and decision to make.
As for officials, well, that's another thread, and one that isn't allowed here, so i wont go into it. Suffice to say i think they are utter morons who don't know which way is up, and just 'go with the flow' of what everyone screams the loudest, so they don't lose their positions.

If you are too lazy a parent that you can't figure out what your spawns are playing then you shouldn't any have kids to begin with.
Other people and companies are not there to be your baby sitter because you can't handle the responsibility.
That's why ratings exist, so you will know what you get into and if you're an adult to take responsibility.

I understand the OP's point of view, it just seems like a losing battle though. Pre-teen and teens have pretty much unlimited access to nudity or porn whenever they want now.

You miss the point. You have NO SAYSO in what parents allow their kids to do. It is NONE of your business in the first place. I've seen plenty of kids that are horrible and i'd like nothing more than to have a sit down with their parents. I don't. It isn't my place to tell them that i don't think they are parenting right. I mind my own business.

i'd be more concerned about the weaponry your son has tbh, with all the gun crime going on in schools, of which America seems to suffer from at frightening levels, perhaps if less children had firearms, then less children in schools would be killed by them.
Then you should reread the opening post. Nowhere does he say anything about the community's attitude. He simply says he saw a kid in chat say he was 11. and is offended that the game makers didn't make double sure all players were adults. Which is where my point comes in that it isn't any of his or our business what parents let their kids do.
