I have completed the main quest line twice, finished all side quests, levelled my favourite weapons to 20 and got an ego score of circa 1000. I have only been playing a few hours an evening, but for example, the second time around without distractions the main storyline took circa 5 hours (a lot of that spent waiting for the delay before the next part is offered)
I have also taken part in numerous co-ops, invasions, time trials, rampages and hotshots. Admittedly I have not acheived gold in all of these because: a) repeating the same content to tweak my score bores me, and b) the time trials are handled server side with the affect that +2-10 seconds are regularly added to your time taking you out of one medal bracket and into the next.
I find the game fun, but I don't really feel there is anything left for me to do in it until more content is added. Or perhaps if the social functions were improved i would have a greater incentive to co-op. I hope they give me a reason to keep playing because I enjoy the game play.

Wow, I am at about 900 Ego I think, and have only finished the main story line once, still have about two thirds of the side missions to go, and nuerous pursuits to complete.
My main gun is not even level 10 yet, I don't understand how you have accomplished all of these things, so fast, and with only an Ego level of 1000. Seems like you are missing a lot of the game some where. I don't really do PvP, did a couple here and there working on completeing a couple contracts, which is another aspect, I am only at "Familiar" on a few of the reputations, and "Unknown" on the rest.
So I still have a ton of content left to go through and almost the same Ego level as you.
Not so nice guy!
I can't explain it, wish I could. Done the main quest twice. BTW Nim- equip a fast recharge sheild, dodge and run A LOT, learn his rotation, shoot when you can little bit by little bit. Dodge twice when he is going mental and dropping a bomb. The second time when I knew him sailed by.
I have done all the side quests, main quests twice and a lot of the join as you drive quests, still only 1000, dunno how.
Only thing I can think of is I was less detail driven, so if I was on my way to a mission and saw an Arkfall I would stop and kill stuff. If I stopped at the entrance to a trial, or side quest and saw an emergency I would tackle it.
Not so nice guy!
Well the game lacks content currently which most will agree on. As you said wait until more content is released then revisit the game if you haven't lost interest by then
Forcing yourself to find a reason to log in is only going to completely burn you out. Do somerthing else for now
Ive been playing as much as the OP has. Couple hours every night.
Im not even EGO 1000, have most of san fanciscos' pursuits left to do. Have only one weapon past lv9, a couple others between 3 and 6 and the bulk at 1. I havent even touched pvp other than one or two occasions, and i have a few dungeons havent run, with the rest having run them once. Only did the storyline once.
Couple hours a night to be is like 2-3 hours. Im thinking the OP's couple hours a night is more like 12 hours if hes that far.
Hell unless you exploited a few mobs (which can be done) to get all your weapons to 20...i would say you probably play at least 12 hours a day if not more.
In all honesty it was probably quite an over estimate. The game lacks storyline content, theres no argument with that, part of the reason is theres no level lock on quests, the other part would be the DLC and staggerd content plan. Regardless game needs more content in terms of storline.
Right now the game has more content in terms of side missions, challanges, pvp, dungeons, achievements, weapon and vehicle progression and other fluff to outlast and normal human at least untill DLC comes out (which better have a hell of a lot of content btw).
I can agree that you might have done the storyline twice over, and might have done a lot of other parts of the game, but i dont believe anyone that says they got every weapon and vehicle to 20 and have done every single bit of content.. Im sure its possible to finish it all, but at that rate no games going to have enough content for you...simply put you play too damn much.
No need to make stuff up to get your point across, everyone agrees that there needs to be more storyline content. Also if the DLC doesnt add another "map" as large or larger than the current map, with all the related content and side stuff, there is going to be issues with the games longevity. Im keeping my fingers crossed that the DLC isnt going to be a small greyed out area opened up with a few story missions and like 10 side things. It better be St. Louis or some significant area of the game that would effectivly double the content. If not i think a lot will move on untill the game expands significantly.
I only made it a few days because there's zero socializing , as in I actually could play for hours and see no one talk.
I've never played a mmo of any type on a PC that literally had no one talking for hours at a time.
Just made it not that fun for me personally and made the wall hit way sooner than other games.
You've obviously never played Guild Wars 2.

Your not going to have people talking during combat, this isnt a tab target slow combat game. Its TPS combat, you need to actively move shoot and dodge actually is usefull and not just for putting yourelf out of fire.
Even when they made the game not hide chat when moving people dont chat via text in combat, theres too much going on. Get in a clan with VIOP or make use of the in game VOIP. This isnt 1999 people only use "general chat" to troll and spam their memes
i swear people will find the most minute reasons to hate a game. Try harder lol
Oh and go into a hub safe area and try chatting, people respond when they are able to, and people do chat, just not during an arkfall or while in combat.
"I have overplayed a game and rushed through the content and now I have nothing more to do."
You know , I bet the people you are aound are like that. I can only imagine your VOIP chat discussions too.
On the other hand , there are plenty of folks who actually chat in general chat in other games , shocking isnt it ?
Now back to your Defiance Defense force role for you.
I'm guessing the content isn't slow in order to allow for growth.
haha I love this. I have a job, I can only play three hours a night. I said this quite explicitly, yet people choose not to hear it.
some time the simple one are the most fun.
also i still ahvent beat the main story yet and i put in about 8 hours a day since right after launch, i spend to much time do side stuff and driveing around chaseing arkfalls i gueaas, not hihg on weapon level yet ether but thats for a diffrent reason.
F2P may be the way of the future, but ya know they dont make them like they used to
Proper Grammer & spelling are extra, corrections will be LOL at.
Did you forget to swap out a maxed xp weapon?
i got the game at launch, Ego rating around 430 right now on only one character. Already done with main storyline but i still have more than half the total of side missions. Im still enjoying the game. Havent done shadow war, pvp, or coop missions.
Rushing to the end in mmos is like throwing yourself onto the wall. Each to its own i guess. I know i have a lot more content to do... at my own pace. Nobody is waiting for me, or chasing me.
But this is it, I didn't rush it. I don't have the time to rush games. I just played through it picking up all side quests and encounters on my way.
Wait, playing efficiently is "overplaying" now? Is this why we have so many terrible players? They feel they need to nerf themselves to get a decent time investment out of their games?

Y U NO FLIP TABLE?!?!?!
well it seems we play very differently. I dont rush either. Also, something i hate from new mmos is that they keep the generic questing from point A to B of old mmos so in Defiance although it feels more fun because its a shooter, its the same thing so i dont do 25 quests in a row. I do a handful of quests, get on my car, wander around doing random encounters. After a while go back to questing another handful, and so on. That way i can tolerate generic questing after being spoiled by dynamic events. And it helps me not rush and get bored or burn out.
People get upset with the argument that it isn't that the game is too short or has too little to do, it's that you played through it too fast. Honestly, now that we're seeing complaints about the lack of content or an "endgame" for every single MMO and MMORPG release, not to mention the single-player games, I think it's time to start pointing the finger at the player.
I've played all the heavy hitters and have had Defiance for a few weeks now too. I've never reached an endgame, skill cap, or found myself without something to do. I generally play for a few hours every day as well. I don't think I'm in the majority, but I doubt you are as well. You're just part of the "Vocal Minority". Either deal with the fact that games are man-made and therefore do not go on forever, or just slow down. Doing every quest and side-quest in a week doesn't mean the game is too short if you played 5-10 hours a day.
