What is innovative?
Now things that will be in CU and that makes MMO games very good: - 3 realms
no mirrored classes = much more diversity, much more things to do - you can feel your character
large number of classes (not at the beginning - it will increase over time - that's why it's sub based game)
not F2P game = much less gold sellers, good stable community, devs focusing on game not on items in cash shop and what to do to earn more cash
unlimited progression (horizontal progression - very slow progression) - it's always possible to kill people who have more expierience if you are good
support all playstyles including stealth, solo, duo, group, zerg
fight the same enemies in a neverending conflict where you learn their names and guilds with no artificial resets when one side "wins"
realm lose some kind of bonuses / resources when they lose keeps so it makes people want to actually defend
hard interrupts (with semi exception not specified exactly) because of that casters will have more DPS. We will prevent situation like in WAR where 3 people are on healer who is still keeping grp healed. What's more fights in zergs won't look like fighting jumping rabbits - it will also require thinking where to positione yourself!
depths (upgraded DF from daoc)
death spam!
realm pride!
no instances!
reactive / positional melee stles! combos!
archers feeling archers not next stupid mage
unique terrain for each realm!
special healer class - not next game where everyone cal heal each other and nobody needs anyone!
no AH - you need to communicate with people, hate them, like them, love them!
no instant fast travel (limited) - you need to think while you fight, when you die you lose time, it's not fps game!
no cross realm chat
one realm per server
no GCD!
Multiple hot bars and lots of skills to freely choose from. Skills are not tied to weapons nor limited in the number that are equipable at one time
CC will play important role in CU!
no buffbots like in daoc!
stand to cast!
no CASH SHOP

Do you have somewhere summed up everything so much in so short manner so you don't need to lose your time if you want to know something about the game?
As to the thing you posted imho the person who wrote it should be ashamed. His work is to write about games. His work is to write about things that people want to be written. If he writes about what he want he will lose his job.
SPAM is something what is not wanted, not connected to the things you do. That guy is working as a person who writes about games right? So he got messages about CU. CU is a game. It wasn't spam.
How people can know if he got that message or not if there is nothing about that game on the webpage? How?
He blames people for not knowing about it? WTF? His job is to respond to people not blame them.

How have I not heard of this game? Somebody has really screwed the pooch regarding promoting this project! It's like they just don't want anyone to know about it. ><

Please link me to a list by the company that confirms all of these features.
This list is as usefull as a letter to Santa. Nothing of this is to be guaranteed in the game. It's not even guaranteed these guys are able to make a game at all. So dial it back a notch and make this thread as soon as features are ofificially announced.
A letter to Santa is fine. If your parents read it when you give them it and buy whatever's written.
I can't see anything that list that isn't planned or isn't a possibility. Most of it will most likely make it's way into the game.

I've been following this forum / reddit / ama / CU MJ comments on KS/ since day 1 and i watched almost all interviews.
So it's all in that places all over internet and it is really bad that is is not cumulated like i did or similiar way on KS page.
It's not hard to implement that things. If you can focus only on PvP and have so much expierience in developing games.
Mark can you confirm the list? Did I miss something? Did i say something wrong? So people who don't believe like that guy can sleep well?
The soul death system was just an idea so far as the Veil Walker/Stalker, unlimited progression is pretty much wrong as unlimited is not something achievable in games.
Great compilation of their innovative ideas. I think the kickstarter ends today. Are they going to make their goals or stretch goals, I think they call them? Would love to get that old DAoC tri-realm pride going again! "Do we have Darkness Falls?" lol
Afaik they will add stretch goals via Paypal directly on their side to allow those that have issues with amazon payments (mostly europeans) to help out. If I recall correctly the first stretch goal would be Archer/Ranger at 2.100.000
The soul system is pretty much certain to make it to the game, it seems amazing and it will at least be in an extension, as most of the backers like it (i didn't any comment against it) so they'll ask for it in the backers' forum.
EDIT : Besides, you can very much have unlimited progression in a game, just do something like the exp needed for each level equal the exp needed for the previous level multiplied by X>1. If each level increase your stats by X% then you have unlimited progression, although sooner or later you'll need so much exp it'll take several years to get to the next level, even for the most hardcore player.

it will be like rr13 in daoc - almost not being able to achieve. Only like ~5 people got it from all players. And i was really happy about it - I always felt that I was moving forward not staying in one place. Very slowly but moving forward.
I know it was ideas and that things are to discuss but they are innovative and worth to mention, maybe they will be different but it's worth mentioning good ideas.
That's why it's a niche game. They aren't bad mechanics, you just don't like them. Or you don't see the good consequences.
That's pretty true However many ppl don't look at things from objective perspective and don't know exactly what gives them entertainment.
