Well on the Kickstarter comments, I've seen people try to come up with ways to use the Veil for all sorts of other game mechanics such as rezzing and CC. So I would say some of them are getting a bit carried away as a result of the Veil stealth concept.
Coming up with suggestions is something entirely different than hyping.
Suggestion: I think it would nice if we could bake bread in Camelot Unchained.
Hyping: Camelot Unchained is the best thing since baked bread.
I'm certain no one here is confused with what the idea behind it is or the principles behind it.
I did and have been following it, I'm just amused with how easily most of the CU community is dissuaded from their "stealth-hate" by a simple renaming.
MJ is brilliant, which is why I can't wait for CU and I am quite sure it will be amazing, but I can't help but point out things like this.
He's not simply renaming it. As other posters have mentioned, he has said there will be no opening stun or one-hit deaths. No one here has mentioned the thing that alleviates my greatest problem with stealth in most games today though, the fact that it will not be a "get away free card." I hope that means that the transition into the veil is a casted ability. A cast that has at least 5 second duration and requires the caster to remain still. That one difference from the insta-cast disappear that is in most games with stealth today would make the openers a lot more palatable. Why? Because if a stealther isn't able to get away every time I catch them off-guard. Then turn around and kill me, while all I can do is decide how to get back from my respawn location. Then stealth has been improved 100% over what we see today.
MJ promised it won't be this. If that's hype, then I hope he has a lot more hype to heap upon us.
