New player best cash shop buys

TARDIS79TARDIS79 Member Posts: 4
Hi... I'm looking to try Neverwinter and my aim at least right now is to spend no more then $20 in the cash shop for the foreseeable future.  What does everyone think the best buys are currently for new players in the cash shop, $20 or less?  Before anyone says it yes I know you can play without spending a dime but I want to know what you can spend money on to most help improve the experience for a new player.

A extra bag and a respec stone would be all you'll even need. Save the respec stone until after you hit level 60 and the bag will save you from making extra trips while dungeon delving.

To be completely honest with you, I would wait to spend any cash until you feel the need, or want to do so. I'm currently level 55 on my Great Weapon Fighter and haven't spent a dime that I didn't want to, and many guild mates at 60 who have spent from $0-$30 and loving the experience so far.

I decided to purchase the cheapest option of the founders pack, which was definitely under whelming, but I knew that purchasing it, and I did it just to support the company.

Honestly, the things that stick out to me for the leveling process are possibly the healthstones and bags, but they're not even close to being required. My healthstone still has full uses because the cleric companion does a decent job at keeping me up. The inventory space was nice, but it's definitely not required, either.

I guess my point is don't feel the need to jump in and purchase something immediately. You'll be pleasantly surprised to see that the quality of life as a free player isn't bad. If you're like me and just want to spend a small amount of money to support the developer or whatever, there are quite a few things that are of use.

But I've waited to save my purchases for my initial character reset at 60 because of bad leveling choices I made in regards to skills, and maybe pick up some additional companions or keys just to do it.

This is basically what I should of instead of my TL;DR rant.

I did this exact thing, basically. But save that respec until 60. Even if you make bad skill choices, you won't be severely gimped during the leveling process due to it going so fast and the relative ease of the majority of solo content.

BTW you get a free 18 slot bag at lvl 6 and another one round lvl 30

And you don't need a respec token if you just want to respec feats, you can do those for Astral Diamonds

I could be wrong but I like too pay to play if gives me pleasure I will gladly tip the makers more. But there is a whole subculture of folks that get pleasure out of paying nothing or nearly nothing free too play games with out a pay too win element are doomed. If you like the game and want too support it don't take advice from the free loaders

Best buy would probably be another game. Seriously.. you can play this game for free, your money is best spent on getting another game. Spending money isn't going to make your experience any better.

If you're rolling in cash, do what you want. If you aren't, focus on yourself by giving yourself options. You could get an all access station pass for that and have a subscription to loads of games for a month... as well as play NW. That would be a lot more value for your $20... not an extra character or some more bank space.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

    Definitely not this.

Save up two months for a cool mount. Buy the stone companion that shares stats. Or buy 2 coalescent wards each month.

Bags? Not needed. Health Stones? Not needed.

To be honest you dont need anything from the store, but those 3 things I listed are the best purchases. The lockboxes usually payout way more than you spend as well.

I plan on playing solo at least at the start... Would any of the cash shop companions be worth it?

$20 wasted away for a few days that it might last.

If you like alts and want them all on the same account, you can spend $5 for 2 character slots.

Or zero dollars and just make more than one account.

Character slots, bags, Ioun Stones (or a cat). If you really like PvP (or just want a cool mount) a good mount is also not a bad purchase.

That's basically it, I wouldn't really spend money on anything else.

Nope the level 16 companions are still the best you can get, specifically the Cleric.

They cap out at level 15 and are essentially useless around level 40 or so.  The epic companions cap at level 30 and are still handy to have around at 60.  I think the stone that shares stats is probably the best companion available right now.

I recommend an extra bag or 2 for the added inventory slots. I know you can just run back to a vendor and sell some things. But when I was deep in a long dungeon you can't do this. If I had $20 to spend on a brand spanking shiny new character these are the 2 things I would purchase.

Atm I have the feeling, i don't have to by anything in this game just because you can easily level without paying any real money.

What could be usefull is a bigger bag, BUT even here you can sell your items from everywhere to the AH which costs like a small diamonds fee, but this fee is almost free so its a great item slot haha.

Anyways a small tipp when u think leveling is too hard, make a few levels at PVP which gives a great amount of exp, do like 3-4 levels go back to the quest you had to do and it will be easy as you can imagine.

Atm i am doing quests which are 8 levels under my current level I finish them pretty fast for a actual good amount of exp.

And forget to pay any money for a respecc just check out a great guide on the neverwinters english forums and you will not need any respecc possibilities.
