A currency exploit was publicly revealed last night that has shut down neverwinter. People could negatively bid on auctions and literally get billions of AD (the currency of NW) in seconds. This has been revealed to be a issue that has been going on for weeks and just now went public. What do you think they are going to do?

At which point, they lose a large section of their player base. Many people will NOT tolerate losing all of their time and effort, simply because of a relative few exploiters. There is really no need. They have the logs, just write scripts to data mine for certain values, which get kicked out for a human analysis. Perma ban those who have exploited, and remove their ill gotten gains from the system.
its still beta, they will fix it...
btw, exploits and bugs are what beta's are about, its a good thing they found this, they will just delete some funds and goodies off chars and follow the trail.
The problem is that I am sure many of the exploiters realized what they were doing and were smart enough to make alt accounts to transfer the funds to, probably several alt accounts. Since it is F2P, who knows how many accounts were made and how many the funds were spread across.
The game is listed as Live on the PWE website, so they really screwed up. It should still be in beta.
Big letters over download now say "Now in Opened Beta!"
There have been guilds bragging about basically setting up hundreds of laundering accounts to buy and sell and wash the AD multiple times , far more than just this weekend.
There's zero way they get all that duped AD out of the economy without a wipe.

This is what happens when you ignore the every day speed hack, gold farmers, and basically ignore the small problems. Sooner or later you'll get hit big and your reputation will be destroyed, and reputation is everything.
There is no possible way I could give them money at this point.

"I also noticed when I posted some end game gear in the auction house which I got from delves chests, they were not found from the search and thus I lost the exchange fee and after 4 days none got sold. I did give out a buyout also and from another account and the gateway I checked and my end game gear was not found. This is so weird.

This. Plus when these dupers buy Zen from the AD/Zen market they are buying Zen from a finite source of Zen sellers (other players) at whatever price the actual seller set. Once all the Zen is bought, they are doing nothing more than driving up the price for those selling Zen in the first place.
All those extra AD floating around is doing nothing but driving AD prices down and Zen prices up. And realistically, free players aren't trying to buy Zen in the first place, they're trying to get Zen related items that are from the Zen store. Which they will be able to get from dirt cheap cause AD means nothing to AD dupers laundering their Zen purchases on the AH for you guessed it....legit AD.

I think they need to wipe the game clean slate . Its an open beta so they can do whatever they want .
However people who have spend money on zen should get a refund imo.
Best case is they get it fixed, block the issue from ever happening again and those who were exploiting it will be banned and IP addresses identified so they cannot access the servers again.
As a community we do not need anyone even the exploiters to take advantage of an in game econ to make any profit outside since some of us invest real money when purchasing Zen or Gift Cards.
Agree still. If they wipe it restore those who have founders and guardian packs including the Zen purchased since Closed Beta since that all has been consumed.

The economic wizards on this thread are basically saying if you print enough money to give every US citizen a billion dollars it simply means everyone will be rich and the economy will work as intended.

That only works if you can work out how to print money and keep the majority of the population out of the loop but give them enough to keep chasing the big money but keep printing more so that you still have vastly more then them...oh wait, that is the economy of the civilized world!
It wasn't a few exploiters! It was soo massive that all of the Zen on all the servers was bought out in hours. Trillions of AD was produced and flooded the markets. People had so much they were buying cats and other stuff and just giving it away to anyone who wanted it and whispered them! It is a massive mess that only server wipes really is going to fix. REMEMBER it is still only "beta" so don't get all upset if they wipe. *Sarcastic laugh*

Well they could just Wipe Assets ? And maybe just give people standard green crap gear dependant on level .
So instead of grinding to level 60 again you just have to gear up again .
So cheaters selling exploited AD to gold sellers is a bad thing? Especially when they only way to obtain the AD balance is for the gold seller to buy the account associated with the outrageous AD balance? Because you know, since AD cannot be traded between players nor characters on the same account. So if the gold seller is buying bogus accounts for big bucks and then login said accounts to try to "cash-in" just to find the accounts have been banned for having outrageous AD balances, who exactly are you feeling sorry for?
