Need help deciding my next mmorpg

CulloCullo Member CommonPosts: 2

Im really struggling to find a new mmorpg to waste away my free hours. So hoping some of you kind people can give me a nudge in the right direction.

My main online gaming history is the following.

Dofus - 3-4 years

Cod4- 3-4 years

Atlantica Online - 2 years

Lord of Ultima(RTS)-2 years

After i quit Lord of ultima I was on the lookout for a new MMORPG and tried Path of Exile for 1 month and then Guild Wars 2 for 2 -3 months . Both of those games were good but not enough longevity in the games for me. Too easy and quick to lvl up. And as you can see by my gaming history I like a game that will keep me playing for a few years.

My main preferences for a game are the following.

Longevity - I want a game that will keep me playing for a few years.

Community - Preferably a dedicated and active community. Aswell as being decent people, if its full of LoL players then I wont touch it :P

PvE - must have a decent pve to it. I do enjoy pvp also but would be spending 90% of my time on PvE.

Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

Games aren't built for longevity these days, they are solo-centric and over-simplified.

The best I can come up with are the slightly more old-school style mmo's like AoC, Vanguard etc.

I have been looking for a new game, too, and my gaming 'likes' are similar to yours.  Now that it's summer where I live, I am not online very much but I have been dabbling with City of Steam.  It's the first time I have ever really tried a browser based game but I'm enjoying it.  Player numbers are kind of low right now but I have never seen anyone be a total jerk.  It's mostly PVE.  If you choose to PVP, you can either challenge someone or use the PVP arena.  The game is in open beta right now so it still glitches sometimes.  I play a Gunner and I love it.  You can buy a pet which will pick up your loot while you kill stuff.  If you try it and like it ... send me a mail here and I can give you my character's name.  Just know this ... I might be a girl but I can kick ass just as well, if not better, than most guy gamers.  image

Edit addressing the solo gaming issue .... there are some quests that need to be done with a squad but you are put into a queue with other people needing the same quest.  You can either form your own squad or join members from the queue.  I have done both but, at this point in the game, using the queue is faster plus it gives you a chance to meet more people.image
