DFUW is a zerg game but everyone crashes at sieges

Aragon100Aragon100 Member RarePosts: 2,686

Last sieges have shown that it is not playerskills that is needed in DFUW but the numbers you can bring to a siege.

A game that promote these zerg sieges as it's endgame cant deliver at all when it comes to stability. 100% of the players had a few or up to +10 crashes during a siege yesterday.

A complete failure.

Sieges dont work in DFUW.

Ill crash once or twice during the really massive sieges, but the smaller ones I don't crash and most people in my clan alliance don't crash for the smaller sieges.

Agreed they need to fix the issue (and I suspect its players abusing a bug that causes people to crash, which is why it got better after the ban waves)

Agreed they need to increase optimization.

After the kholesh siege last week, which may have been the largest NA1 siege yet, and a ton of smaller sieges since...its not nearly as big of an issue that it use to be..which again is why I think it was player triggerd for the most part.  Hopefully they got banned or are scared to use the bug ect.

Oh and the point of the game is large scale warfare, call it a zerg all you want its the point of the game.  This isn't a 1v1 or arena pvp game (though can can organize such pvp quite easily)

If you are getting zerged in sieges then you are failing at politics.

I did not crash at the last two sieges I took part in. Both had 100+ people at the siege. Everyone in my clan was also very stable. We had a few crash here and there. So this is a very large improvement from the sieges I took part in a month ago. I guess it can only get better.

I believe Darkfall Unholy Wars has a memory leak that leads to worsening conditions/crashes overtime. I always have to relog after playing for a few hours because of  a noticeable performance drop.

If you don't already have 8 gigs of Ram, I would upgrade.

You got it wrong, the common DFUW guild player want to have a secure 6 vs 1 advantage before they leave their zap tower cities.

Thats what's wrong with this game, the mentality of the majority of the so called hardcore PvP clans.

They're carebears just about all of them.

Last night i crashed as did all of my clan 3 or 4 times.  It was still a lot of fun though... couldn't wait to log back in.

To be fair, PvP in groups in any game is "biggest zerg wins" pretty much, with the exception of Eve where "Riches Zerg wins"

Still the crash issue is a bit of a problem though its probably not effecting everyone to such a huge degree. From the sounds of it though and from responses here it seemed a LOT are effected. 1 single crash is still to much and it really does need to be fixed.

Yup - their endgame which they advertise is totally broken.  I crash at sieges and even small 10 v 10 fights...  Such a joke.

Like two holding in game have towers man.

You only have to worry about towers in open space, just run into their keep and start siege hammering it if you want a fight.

but yeah if they are carebears and try to 6v1 you then they are probably bad and you should be able to kill them all.  Ive seen plenty of cases where the zerg gets their asses handed to them, so don't act like theres nothing that can be done and that pvp is dead in DF.

I do not agree with you, a premade who are all on vc can beat a zerg with ease, been there worn the t-shirt many times in pvp games.

As to the crashes, give the dev's sometime to fix the bugs, but also the dev's should give something back to the player base if things are not right, give em take ..it works both ways.

Visit the link below from the official forums for some additional perspectives.

Most of the players in the link above agree with Aragon100.  There are too many crashes going on.  I agree.

It's sad too, as sieges are one of the most fun parts of DF:UW  image

I heard about players crashing in a 50 vs 50 siege atleast 5-10 times per players. In DFO, no one crashed more than once no matter how big the siege was.

Some ppl will think the game is better because it has better graphics, but for a warfare mmo like darkfall, graphics/animation can easily break the game.

DFO was not a broken game.. Working on an other game instead of improving the old one  for one day, finally replace the old one was the worst thing to do and it's something the worst company can do.

DF1 was laggy, but those on 64bit systems didn't crash, i personally crashed zero times in DF1, with UW its more a matter of when and in a full loot game that doesn't aid confidence one bit.

Yes it sucks but it will get fixed sooner or later. Bugs happen.

The brightside is they fixed load-lag. When that wasn't fixed instantly there were so many posts here calling AV liars. Soon as it was fixed though, not one thread to praise them for fixing one of the most important issues the game has ever had.

Supprising that. People just love to call doom and gloom.

Crashes? I haven't had a crash in the game I'm playing in the past 5 months, heck only once ever :p 200+ vs 200+ is fairly common.

sorry guys had to do it ;)

Hate to say it but I would rather have load lag when you could actually siege without crashing!  Much better trade off.

Except it's not a trade off. It's just another bug to squash.

Don't be cruel bcbully. That's not fair. Wushu is smooth as a babys bottom compared to DFUW. No need to kick some1 that is lying down.

I've only been in one siege so far but I didn't crash. I lagged like hell but I stayed on...

They do need to do something for sieges but for me it is more about latency than crashes...
