Name me one MMO that offers spying? kidnapping? boss calling players to help them in dungeons? What else you want? For fcuk sake it's a game that offers you lots of entertainment values, learn to play and have fun with it.

Talking about PVP or PVE, you do button mash? lol epic fail.

I concur that the amount of game systems around PvP is impressive, just not deep, and extremely poorly implemented.

What does one get besides a shiny name in the this deep political system? Do they levy taxes? Do they control anything at all? Not deep, superficial.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

Too quick to judge, AOW is a four course meal, the main one hasn't arrived yet.

pvp is extremely poorly implemented? Care to elaborate it?

I did not get all the "hype" around the game.  I tried it for a bit and never logged in again.

The game felt like a normal Asian grinder FTP game.

I read a lot about this game was hard and had a learning curve.  I took that to mean it had deep game play.   I did not think it was hard just poorly translated and implemented.

The only think I liked was the ability to climb on top of buildings and explore.  That got old after a bit.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

    Well yes they do.

Yes guild levey taxes on areas they control two bases in.

School leaders control treasure. The declare war and ally with other schools to war for these treasures. The more treasure (only 8) your school has the more bonuses they will receive.

Now I'm just skimming the surface answering what you asked. The layers of both of these system goes several more layers deep. Feel free to ask if you like.

As a previous poster stated, post you see in the vain of the poster above are speaking from a very limited understanding. Maybe in the mmorpgs of last year, you would "understand it all" after a few hours (maybe sooner not to much different between them) Not here though. Again if you like I will explain both those systems further.

cool story, i bet You would die from 10 mobs in gcc at 1st time, as for TV at hard You will lose whole mp after killing just 2 mobs, at hell You wouldnt probably even kill them

button mash on bosses? You are a pro thx for tips!!!, hit boss who will get dmg buff when he parry Your hits, then he will 1HKO, or smash buttons at bosses who stun at parry or drain mp

-no, group of lowbies will have low stats and will miss most if not all hits, but.. from Your BIG game knowledge You probably know better

-what some people call deep crafting in AoW its professions dependency, yet again guess You didnt experience that coz You would need better recipes than basic one from npc

I've played many an asian grinder, and this game couldn't be further from it.

That doesn't mean it doesn't have vices like an overly complicated leveling system with a tutorial that leaves much to be desired.  The real problem is people go into Wushu EXPECTING it to be another simple asian grinder, they don't pay attention to what the tutorial does have to offer and then they quit in frustration because they don't understand how things work.  Of course, they then promptly come to mmorpg forums to tell tales of how horrible wushu was without ever even playing the game because they couldn't follow basic instructions.

Wushu is truly innovative from the ground up, and every triple A title on the horizon should be required to study it to help them think outside the box.

I actually think the game is very underrated in the west. AoW is much better and innovative then RIFT, SWToR, GW2.

The PvE in the game is the worst PvE of any game in recent memory. When 2 to 3 players can leave the boss unattended to deal with summoned player enemies, it's not hard.

Crafting dependency. You mean making a basic piece of jewelry that is completely useless till 2 other professions alter it and spend money to upgrade it on a RANDOM chance you might make something worth selling. Yup..great system there.

Of course the top .000001% of the game where the ultra-leet are is the only place the game shines, that's why people are missing it. I understand now.

I don't think you understand what the game is supposed to actually be about.

-This is NOT a quest game.  Once you finish your intro quests, where you get your skills and such, stop.  There is no reason to do PVE quests like in other games.  You get 1 point EXP and minor faction.  You are supposed to be doing PVP stuff.  Try spying, where you get like 144 EXP and better faction for your school and a bit of NPC cash.

There are hidden quests where you have to give certain items to certain NPCs or do some other bizarre thing to make them cooperate, but again, there is no reason to do this.

-You are not supposed to pick more than one crafting skill.  Everything is tradeable.  This isn't a "hey, I have 5 alts for each tradeskill I don't have to interact with anyone" type of game.  You are supposed to interact with other people in terms of the economy as well as PVP.

-There are no classes.  You get a school, you get three skill sets that use different weapons.  If you want to use a different weapon, you must gather the skills from that skill set and level them.  You can get every single skill in the game, you can get every single weapon type in the game.  You can switch them on the go, but there is like a 7 second delay.....so you have to be a little creative.  Once you get to a certain level within your own school there are a couple of other weapon skill sets that open up.

-LOL.  Again, this is not a PVE game.  Try pressing 1,2,3,4 against someone in PVP....you will die, die again, die a third time, and a million times after that.  This is a PVP game, not a PVE game.

-You have to open up different teleport landmarks, then spend silver to slot them.  It's useful, the zones are sort of big, but you do not really need them.  Use them to get somewhere, do something, then get back..

-There is a community.  There is a school chat channel for all your school members.  There is a guild thing.  You really need a guild in this game by the way.  If you are trying to play this game like you solo-play WOW or LOTRO, don't bother logging in.

The fact that you think it is a quest grinder is odd.  There is no reason to do any "quests" in this game after your newbie stuff is done.  This is a PVP game.  Everything revolves around PVP.  If you like PVP, you will like this game.  If you want to avoid PVP, you will not like any part of this game.  The grind in this game is the time it takes to convert your EXP into gained EXP for a certain skill you are working on.

You are playing the game wrong.

In a hell mode there may be 24 players. 12 assassin will be summoned (players), so you split you group strong dps on boss, strong cc on sins. This is what makes the PvE hard. 12 players attacking along side the boss.

Completely random for you 1st or 2nd enchant, kinda Some types of weapons only give plus damage or plus block break. Some give +10% to skills. No two weapons are the same, no two pieces of gear are the same. Some items are truly wtf epic, all created by players.

Yep there are "ultra elite" that you will never kill, out sell, out raid. Those people put a lot of time in. Wushu rewards them for that.

I think you prove my point that PvE is horrible. The only thing that makes it interesting is the PvP aspect.

I think a crafting system in which the crafter has limited to no input on the outcome and may end up with an unsellable product is a junk crafting system. It would be different if it was mob loot.

I have no qualms with the elite earning what the elite earn. What I take issue with is saying that the .001% of the game IS the game. Most games have ultra-hard elite mode dungeon content. That doesn't allow the remaining 95% of the game to be crap.(speaking strictly PvE)

Pve gets a bit more interesting after TV normal, still pretty sub-standart, but more.. intense? Some bosses have a bit more convoluted  encounters (not by much) and fights  with pvpers can be quite hectic and fun, and also hard (depending on who these sins are).

As for trash pulls, i thought this was the norm since Wrath of the Lich King. i miss those days when you actually had to use cc and strategy for mob pulls.  Now its all mass tank and aoe em down, blehh... (afaik, of course).

For the crafting i disagree. As a tailor, I rarely made a piece i sold below mats price, however crappy the bonuses are.  most of the times i can manage to make a profit out of it.  And i like the random nature of it, creates rarity and you'll be glad when you'll make a nice piece.

And who cares what the elites do, go find ur fun (plenty to be had, not only 5%).

  • GandoresGandores Member UncommonPosts: 55

And what is this .001% of the game is the game?

    That is not true
