Ive been following FireFall for along time now and I honestly feel it gets better every week! I love the look and feel and the whole idea behind the game.

There is plenty to do in FF but the difference with FF is its not going to hold your hand from mission to mission. The content is there. PVE, PVP, Thumping (which i really enjoy), missions, invasions... All great fun but you have to be in the world and things happen.  When I get on I normally start by thumping but that quickly turns into a mission or fighting off an invasion. Im never looking for things to do anymore :)

    thanks R5! <3

I still have no idea which direction Red 5 is taking this game into, they can't seem to decide what Firefall is.

I want to love Fire fall, but still find it lacking focus, and the engine is still not as good as Defiance, I've been doing  Defiance Sieges for the last two days with hordes of zombies and 50+ players all in one area with zero lag.

really you need a company to tell you howto play a game?

this is a great example how forums light up on fire with a new game they expect something that dosent deliver their expectations.

what i mean is 'they tell you how to play the game' you dotn like it -its feels broken and complain about it forever on their forums. without the forums ever being heard.

what i am loving about firefall /red5=they listen!

an open world (with event features) and  stated- 'we heard you-we want you to play however  YOU want to play. thats from beta playerbase feedback! so i prefer to play a game i mold than rather cookie crumb me in circles...

    my interpretation of their

direction is much like eveonlines. and ive played eve for 4.5 yrs.

    their style= like Borderlands2

    their world= like  GW2...

and yes they have uniquely presented new features i havent seen in other games before (battleframes-pvp maps-etc..) , thye just started fleshing out the lore- so i can only see this game getting better!

Closed/Open Beta = Term game developers and their legal staff use to justify accepting money transactions while holding themselves legally indemnified from consumer class action (for false advertising/marketing and not providing expected product).

    Period.

"As far as the forum code of conduct, I would think it's a bit outdated and in need of a refre *CLOSED*"

Not period, lol, it's standard practice not only in the game market but in any software development market to have customer feedback. That is by definition what Beta means. What the community as a whole chooses to think has no bearing on what is fact. Whether you chose to acknowledge it is your prerogative, but the truth is a highly skilled group of developers have poured their lives into bringing this game to market.  I have been developing software for near 10 years and find it interesting how easily kids these days slander the very people who are trying to appease them.  FireFall is offering a free product that require no investment or commitment from you the consumer.  Back before many of you were alive, the only way we could try a game out was to drive to Blockbuster and rent the game.  You have to do nothing, simply sit at the computer and click a download link, what's more, the company actively encourages player feedback to help develop the game to the markets liking.  You would be remiss to assume that feedback is disregarded, I do not envy the public relations department at my company, poor guys are swamped with customer feedback, and we don't even make games.  Every Monday I have a 20 - 30 page document that summaries the previous weeks customer feedback, and as developers we are expected to use that document as a guideline in our development.  I write this not to defend FireFall or scold players for lashing out, I feel many players these days speak without understanding the truth of the situation. You guys have it good, as gamers at least, so just enjoy the fact you are living in what feels like the golden age of gaming for us old timers.  As far as FireFall goes, its free you just have to click a button, let player chose for themselves.  Remember the vast majority of people could care less what you think of a game.

ohh I almost forgot FlyByKnight, you may think you're smart, all those hours flipping burgers really must give you time to think. But honestly anyone with a GED knows that's just not how the software industry works.

Beta is the most abused word in PC gaming right now, and everyone knows it. Take your old fan boy ass back to Firefall Forums you lame. Go enjoy your Commander Pack.

Yes it's very clear how old and out of touch you are. "Flipping burgers" and "GED" insults? Really? Go back to the 70's Horshack.

P.S. Fuck your life story. Nobody asked, what was that bout?

the company doesn't actively encourage player feedback. The community team actively bullies people who calmly provide negative feedback. Its simply an image game. If people give positive feedback with maybe a couple minor gripes, they praise the thread, maybe defend any minor gripes you had. They'e like, look at what this 3rd party thought of our product! If you post mostly negative feedback even in a polite even manner, you get harassed in PMs or IRC and asked to leave the community, a couple people have gotten banned when they haven't. They even keep most testers in the dark of what they're working on, just confiding in a small circle of testers that help them keep their inflated ego's by kissing their asses and praising their ideas, then those testers end up bragging behind closed doors how they just feed the developers complements and the developer told them this or that. Then it isn't until 6 or more months down the line before the majority of the community finds out about it.

Being that you don't work for a games company, i am not surprised to see your PR and yourself take your customer's complaints and concerns with such high regard. I think game companies are notorious for their poor PR.

Yes, many devs have worked many hours to bring the game to fruition, you seem to ignore the many beta testers that also have thousands of hours invested in the game and deserve some respect. Some individual testers probably investing more time than any single dev.

I was in teh beta a very long time ago and it just didn't offer what i thought it was going to be. A mmofps with borderlands graphics. It was just one area doing the same thing over and over.

I have not played it in about a year (which tells you how long ago i was testing this). I'll give it another whirl tonight. I am starting to just stay away from f2p games more and more though to be honest. If you don't value your product enough to charge for it , then it's most likely not ready for release.

im starting to stay away from titles that include f2p+open beta anywhere in it. It's safe to assume cash grab, not ready for release, pay 2 win, terrible support etc...
