John Smedley, long known for being a Twitter Tease, has sent out a picture that shows some early models from EverQuest Next. Further, he indicated that the team was very excited to show of EQN at this year's SOE Live in August.

As long as that isn't the only armor model they have and don't offer re-colored versions of it as new armor, I will not have to drive to SOE and bitch slap someone.

some nice models. I wonder how graphically intensive they are going to make it since it is coming out for ps4 as well. Thought they'd try to take the blizz approach and get it on as many machines as possible

Why does it even matter if its coming out on PS4 or not? Ps4 is more powerful than most people's computers anyway, and MMORPGs shouldnt be designed to have top end graphics. Aesthetics are far more important.

This doesn't mean dick. How many times have we seen shit like this. Good looking models that made us fall all over ourselves with ass game play at release. Ill hold off till i can get my hands on the game its self. With that said, i do have high hopes for this as it may be the last bastion on hope i have for the genre.

No, you were referring to the fact that a PS4 is more powerful then today's PC. I was pointing out the fact that even if this was true, it's just a snapshot at some point. fromt hat point on the PS4 gets old and outdated as it will be overtaken by PC evolution.

whats the point of upgrading hardware if 95% of games developed are optimized for low and mid range pc specs. And games on consoles usually are better optimized and less buggy cuz of uniformity plus all of my real life friends play them which means they can play in everquest with me.

Did you ever play EQ2? One model for each armor type and you could tell what tier they were by the color.

That link has nothing to do with EQN. It has not leaked by anyone. It was erroneous reporting as the original article pointed to an article on IGN that also made no mention of EQN. That being said I do think it was makes its way to ps4.

Almost all the PC exclusive mmos have pretty dumb and boring gameplay like tab targeting and mashing 123456 on my hotbar with a mob standing still in front of me doing lame objectives for people with an exclamation mark on their heads. And when it comes to story they are pretty cliche. Good gameplay that actually requires some brains are games like portal which can be played with a gamepad. Having more clutter on your interface doesnt make a game more complex and surely doesnt mean your smarter.

Think he means that using a gamepad you have less options and can only move/jump and shoot/hack/slash whatever.
