Most of you don't understand, having grown up on Crap mmorpg's , mass produced thing's all trying to be the most easy to win out there..... And failing.
Nailed it. There have been games since EQ that have done a good job. I especially like games that get your heart pumping when you're about to die because death is so bad, like EvE lol. But EQ was the first. It was a game unlike anything we had experienced before and it was done so amazingly well. Those memories are what has us pumped for EQN, which is the point of this site.
All the blizzard kids are going to hate on EQN, but all you got to do is point out that blizzard canned their titan project just so they could learn from EQN. If only a fraction of what the development team has said is true about EQN, it's going to be the gold standard for MMOs for the next 5 to 10 years.
at SOE Live they announce EQ:N is ready to ship and will be released the week after.
(truthfully i'm guessing they will announce a beta start date and beta will run for 4 or so months and then we will see a release in february / march of 2014)
From what I've gathered, they've already finished production and did in house alpha and beta. I think SOE live is going to be announcing a very soon or starting right there an EQN open beta culminating in a winter 2013 release. Most games don't do this, and by the time you "first get info" the game is early in the production cycle. However, they've wanted to keep EQN's ideas secret, so they're basically waiting until the last possible moment to give details about the game, which would be the open beta test phase.
This might be wishful thinking, but I think it sounds reasonable bsaed on how they've been handling the whole thing and when they're deciding to announce the details.
What a bomb that would be! As long as its a smooth launch im happy.

If the game is half as good as the dev team is making it out to be, it won't be a smooth launch because they entire world will try to converge on the game and play it nonstop at the exact same time, causing the servers to explode.
That's ok though. I'll take an overcrowded launch with issues over a poor game any day :P

All SoE games will be F2P from launch not only is it the business model of SoE but also in a way PS4 games will be that way too. Almost all games will be F2P from launch the world has moved on so should you lol.

They haven't promised anything lol. and if you played Planetside 2 which can have thousands of players in a small area you would understand how good this game could be. PS2 is running Forgelight engine just like EQNext will be.
I play PS2 almost every day and holy hell with the same Forgelight engine EQnext could be insane lol. I end up standing there in game just watching because the game is nothing like anything I have ever played as far as scale goes.
On my PC PS2 runs killer on ultra setting with no lag or anything. Scale that up to EQNext the game will be breathtaking period.
If you haven't played PS2 even if you don't like FPS games its still worth downloading it and just sitting back and watching and exploring one of 3 MASSIVE continents.

They asked EQ and EQ2 fans to post their stories in a 30 sec to 3min video.
