hello guys, I made an account just so I can post here.

The game is really good, although understandably raw and unfinished. I cant say much of this game, its just wonderful for my tastes.. I hope developer gets to consider other business models.. maybe go free to play with Item mall, or sell the game initially.. just do not sell game time, that's a major turn-off to potential players, besides im at lvl 33 with less than 10 hours of play, with this rate of levelling, people may find their 1st subscription their last too .. or lessen the amount you have to pay monthly, $15 is just going on toe to toe with WoW or other P2P games.. this game is so good (IMO), it just needs more players and a few core functions missing..

    I hope this game gets:

Map with coordinates( Game World is insanely huge)

    World Chat

sorry for this not so well-constructed post, my mind is just not right atm..

    IGN=Sirkkong(currently lvl 33)

You're level 33? Awesome, I'm level 21 atm - my IGN is Forthelm, maybe we'll run into each other in-game. Also, you can use the command /who all to check for other people online :) as I imagine the chances of actually running into someone in the huge map would be quite low :P lol

But I agree it's a good fun game, hopefully more people will start playing - I'm really enjoying it.

This thread is weird. Any time anyone gets into the game and talks about it, it sounds just like a developer talking about their game stating the development team is small, they have been working on it for 12 years, everything was a breath of fresh air and super polished. Everyone also has relatively low post counts. I'm really intrigued by this game, wondering if anyone has actually physically tried it and is willing to post a screenshot or two.

EDIT: I just saw the youtube video of gameplay in the other thread. I'll check that out.

  • SirKkongSirKkong Member Posts: 6
nope.. well i think im the first guy who got to 50.. and the game is not even a week old.. if you read my earlier posts, I was suggesting a change in their business model, and the low post count simply means I created an account here just to post, since the game's website doesnt have any forums.. if you try the game, you may not like it though, because it kinda gets repetitive, but I love the feel of the game, just me though lol. glad im through over those repeating quests :) now to look forward to advancement points :). go ahead please try it

I've been around here since 2008, just haven't had a lot to say. :)

Mostly, I post in game forums, instead. I'm trying to squeak up here, as well, though, since games may come and go, but hopefully mmorpg.com is forever. So many of my new game discoveries are found via this site.

  •     I also would love to get in game... Currently awaiting a new version or a fix to my "Download the latest version" issue at start up. If anyone gets the down low please post it here since we don't have any "official" forum to follow (that I know of)

just DL a new one in the website.. they update the game like everyday. and dev told me they intended to that than the conventional auto-patch system because they dont want the server to lag. so you get the newer version offline or  not in the game server to be more precise. that's what they said though lol. still better to autopatch rather than dl it everyday..

It happened to me a couple times.. what I figured out is if you just delete the old zip and reinstall it will update.  It likes to run previous versions, even if you download a new one.

The entire file is relatively small 266 mb and you are in game.

It has fast load times, simple, yet pleasant graphics.  I have been playing a few classes.  Got to 50 after Sirkkong.  Still enjoying myself and working on the advancement.

I'm interested in this game as well. Perhaps those interested here might want to form a guild or something, so the world isn't so empty?  Or at least we could all start characters in the same starting area.  I'm downloading currently.

I have to say actually, I'm kinda interested in a sub game again. I never liked item malls, where I think I ended up spending more money quickly, only to change games shortly thereafter. But to each his own.

  •     Hi guys... Thanks for the help, Zaraath...your advice got me up an running.. So far THE has really exceeded my small expectations for the game..  I started a Frogman Necromancer and it immediately feels like a big, open, sand box.. You can definitely feel the "Everquesty" influence, which I adore...the art style is quirky and a nice change... All that said, I dropped the 15 bones for a month of time....not a hard decision to make, honestly..lol.

So, I being that I'm playing Frogman...it appears that most folks in game currently are on the other side... Can we sill chat? Group? guild up? I'd like for find out....look me up in game..the name is "Skorm".

Hopefully the devs are seeing our need for a forum, as well....being that they seem to be pretty well involved with the player base they likely do.  Til then...watching this thread!

What the hell?  Where did this mysterious game come from?  15 bucks doesn't both me, going to try it out now.
  • MargulisMargulis Member CommonPosts: 1,614
So I'm in game playing now.  It costs 15 bucks through paypal but it's a one time payment, doesn't set up a recurring payment.  The game is very basic and indie to the core, but it's kind of fun.  Graphics original EQ quality.  If you want to try something different give it a try but don't expect AAA quality

anyone playing this?  I just saw an add on main page and never heard of it

I played the trial, 2 days or something, and got to 24 and managed to craft a pair of leather gloves for my druid. I crafting is addicting actually. My gloves required me to roll a 26 out of 5 dice at the same time... took me awhile to craft to say the least but was extremely rewarding when I finally crafted a pair. Someone also told me the crafted gloves I managed to make are what you use to get into raiding.

The combat is simple but fun. The graphics are pretty good. The sound is bland, there is only sound effects with no music. Thankfully there is spotify. The quests are your generic kill this kill that type. Skills auto level as you level, so that is nice. Monsters are not your walk in the park though, they hit pretty hard and you cannot really run away, they walk as fast as you!

So far I am having a blast so I payed my $15 to play it some more. Overall a really good game that needs more attention from people. Honestly, $15 isn't much for this game, it is worth it. Back to crafting and leveling!

    Waiting for:
    Diablo 3 Seasonal Ladders
    Warlords of Draenor

It's a surprisingly good, simple game that reminds me a lot of early EQ 1.  I subbed.
  • flizzerflizzer Member RarePosts: 2,455
This is a bizarre thread. it almost seems as if the developers are going out of their way to hide the game.  Ive just heard about it through this thread and now I am intrigued.
  • cmorris975cmorris975 Member UncommonPosts: 207

They are using Paypal for payment.  They have no financial backing as far as I know, so that may be why you don't see much of a web presence for this (yet).  My guess is this is a project of passion for them and they are spending their time developing the game.  It is quite a large world for a small team to have made, seems like a ton of work.

I heard from a player in game who talked to a dev that they have the means to keep the game going and hosted for 50 years independently and that they plan to expand the world through building giant underground dungeon complexes, instead of adding continents as that would spread out chance PvP encounters too much.  Very cool, if this is true.

I remember playing this about a year ago, I was really surprised to see an ad for it on this site.

I enjoyed it well enough, I'm gonna download and play it again - see how it's progressed.

just dl'd it and tried it.

extremly quick download, no installation... couldn't be easier and faster to get into the game... and you have a 24 hour free trial.

I level'd up a paladin up to lvl 16 in about 2 hour, that's including some time collecting mats for tradeskill. Level'ing up is pretty quick, you can likley reach lvl 50 in that 24 hour trial... Tradeskill however ( weaponcrafting and armorcrafting) appear to be a decent time sink ( very few ressource node). It could be problematic if the game had more than 5 or 6 player online at once.

Gameplay: pretty basic. you start out with 6 abilities... and don't get any new abilities, as far as I saw. you kill lvl 1 mob the exact same way you kill lvl 16 mob.

Questing: Every town are buildt the same way. 1 binder, 1 travel guy, 1 merchant, 1 quest NPC, 1 tradeskill trainer. each town except the very first one had 2 quest ;  go kill some stuff few step out of the town.

First dungeon is at lvl 30, will have to push atleast there to see and judge it.

there's 2 lvl 50 in-game currently, Shroomy and Nightfall... they won't admit it, but I have a feeling they are the dev playing their own game. ( and being quite helpful / chatty with new people).

at the end of the day... likely not Worth 15 buck a month ( it is a subscription.. no matter how they phrase it... pay them 15 bucks, have access to the server for 30 day.. wether you are online or not.... only difference is, you have to pay via paypal, can't have automatic payment via credit card...)

I tried the trial out and I fell in love with everything about the game except the fact that I seemed to  be the only person online (at least according to /who all).

I would love to play this game but not alone, it's a multiiplayer game after all, is anyone interested in playing? Already playing and I missed you online?

It's such a shame a game like this has no players. Just typical when I find exactly what I'm looking for.

Is this still around? Does it still require a sub?

I loathe and abhor freemium games. I refuse to play if they are going to sell items or boosts. So if it's just a sub I would be willing to try it out.

Does it have skill trees like Pre-Cata WoW had? Skill trees would be a plus.
