Considering this is a modern mmo, it won't have as many classes or races. i bet the game has 5 maybe 6 races at the start with 4 or 5 classes. We just get cheap shit these days.

Hoping that they get rid of the "good" vs "evil" classes that they had in EQ2 and give us a pure class. But that being said I would likely go Iskar Monk.

Unless the Iskar look terrible. Then possibly human monk.

The only thing that could tempt me otherwise is if they completely surprise us and give us Gnolls as a playable option

I asked several friends last night and their responses were

Barbarian Shaman (or Dark Elf Necromancer)

    Dark Elf Shadowknight

    Barbarian Warrior (or Beastlord)

    Halfling Rogue

    Wood Elf Ranger

    Dwarf Warrior

    Half-Elf Cleric

ya because the realistic models of EQ2 were SOOOO better than EQ1's stylized... /puke lol

SOE just doesnt have good character modelers on their staff it seems. If its the same 3D art/animation team as they had for EQ2... no fucking way. EQ2 looks like they hired some drunk high school kids to model the characters in MS Paint.

EQ1 character models still to this day looks 10x better than EQ2.

i'd be happy to hear they used the DCUO model/animators. those look fantastic.

but to reply to the thread... Dark Elf Bard.. yes theylll have that combo!!!

Vah Shir Necromancer... YES HAVE THAT COMBO!

Barbarian Rogue. fuck it. let all races be all classes. why not? and dont say balance. thats bullshit.

If they do go with classes that are in line with eq1, then it would have to be a Iksar Necromancer.

I'm all for opening up the racial class options up a little, but I think they need to remain firmly planted in the lore and keep to archetypes. A Dark Elf Bard seems feasible, as does a Barbarian Ranger, and a Half-Elf Cleric (I was playing around with the EQ1 character creator today, and I was kinda shocked that this option wasn't available).

With that said, do I want to see Iksar Paladins, High Elf Berserkers, and Ogre Enchanters....no. And for the love of god, DO NOT make Dark Elf Rangers an available option!

So a no for me on all races/all classes.

P.S. Barbarians could always be Rogues. ;)

Troll Necro if its possible, if not then Dark Elf Necro

Blowgun wielding kangaroo ranger with shark pet that has headmounted lasers.

If we don't know anything about an upcoming game , we might as well make up some unusual classes.

In EQ1 I had a Wood Elf Ranger, Ogre Shaman, and Dark Elf Necro.  For EQN, assuming similar class "styles", I think I'd start with an Ogre Shaman for easier grouping.  If grouping mechanics do away with the holy trinity, I'd go Ranger, probably.

I am hoping that they make a good crafting system in this game.

    If so, Dwarven Smith

    if no, Dark Elf Rogue

  • ReskenResken Member Posts: 10

Probably a Half-Elf Bard. Would make a Gnome Enchanter or Magician alt. =)

I've always liked the half-elf racial lore and the bard is a very fun utility class that always benefits groups and can solo with charm kiting (assuming its the same structure as EQ1 however unlikely it will be exactly like it) plus an instrument/musicial class in a game is just awesome for roleplaying.

As for my alt I love the role of CC in MMOS. it's something I think takes a ton of stratagy and skill and is very rewarding because of it.
