I've decided since a lot of MMO's are going F2P that I'd like to pick up and play one in my free time, I'd like this communities help to choose one, hopefully some of you have played some of the ones I mention or can tip me off to a new one that may fit my criteria!
Some of the MMO's I have already installed but am still early levels are:
Neverwinter, Tera, Lineage 2, Rift, Aion
(I'm newb in all of them except Rift, I played for 6 months upon release.)
This is what I'm looking for:
Is NOT P2W
Open world pvp
Instanced Pvp/Dungeons
Some NON instanced dungeons/things to do on map besides just scattered mobs
As close to possible balanced pvp as possible (I know it's virtually impossible to have it perfect), just an MMO that isn't notorious for having huge outlier classes and gear. From level 10-max!
Medium-large playerbase (I like seeing players in the world prior to max level too!)
Doesn't take 10 RL years to gear up to be effective in pvp
Somewhat engaging questline/quests (keep me interested for the grind)
Sieges and stuff like that are a bonus, not required.
I'm not very into scifi type RPG's.
Thanks for any input. As I said, let me know about the MMO's I've already installed or if you really think you know of one that fits above better then any of those, let me know.

remove rift and nwn from that list.
Then you have these options: Real Action combat(Tera), Tab targeting wasd(Aion) or old school point n click/tab targ(L2)
Rift isn't bad at all in their F2P model and it's a pretty solid game with proven mechanics. Even if those mechanics are old now do to being a "WoW Clone".
Don't play Age of Wushu, the Free-2-Play model isn't the best with temporary items and ridiculously priced pets and some scrupulous customer service practices.
My buddy has been playing SWTOR but like you say its all closed in.
DCUO is F2P, but it's not high fantasy. (No elves, dwarves)
Idk man, there may be other really solid F2P games with good playerbases, but Rift is definately one of the main contenders in that area.
Good luck...
PM before you report at least or you could just block.
Rift is an alright game, I just really didn't enjoy how the classes were built. I DID have fun on my cleric..
But i really enjoy rogue type classes/healer type classes. And in Rift the rogues seemed to suck... And my cleric was kind of OP in the beginning... Which I like just to be average so when I beat someone I know it was me and not my OMGOP class.
I was really interested in Lineage 2 a lot of people say it has amazing pvp and such, but god knows how long it would take me to get to level 90 or whatever. I know I purchased Lin 2 when it was first released and LOVED it to like level 20's but I quit due to my computer being very outdated for it and the fact that I was constantly getting ganked by the guys who leveled to get a beast item, then deleveled so they could not lose it and could PK lower levels all day.. not sure if that's still a factor.
