Left EVE because of STO

Ok i never thought this could happen. I gave a try to STO and what a surprise, i like that game so much that i canceled EVE subscription. I know that STO is not so popular because of Cryptic greed for money and some bugs (i didn't saw much of them in week of playing). But anyway it is unique game with mixture of space sim and ground combat in amazing Star Trek environment. I must say that ships in STO are much more impressive from EVE ships, specially Klingon and Romulan ships because of that dark warrior note. One another big plus is for me that you can see interior of your ships in STO and to unlock new look of bridges is not so expensive, even ships are not to expensive. For example one faction fitted battleship in eve online could cost you around 30-40$ or even more if pirate faction, and you can lose them very fast forever, in STO at least you keep that ship when you die. Ok EVE is more serious game because when you lose ships you lose money and most of the people can't afford to lose big ships for example but in STO you can enjoy more in combat and for my surprise i found out that you need more skills to pvp with STO ships. And everything around the ships in STO is more fun. Quests in STO are much better from boring EVE online missions . You don't have this kind of epic system battle btw corporations like in EVE but believe me they are not so much fun like they say. In STO you can jump when ever you want in to pvp and there is no need to spend many many hours grinding isk. I know i know EVE is serious business and STO is lightweight but EVE will never have that epic faction charisma like you have in STO because in EVE you can fly any ship from any faction after you learned skills (and this could take long time without any fun at all), in STO you can feel more of that pride to belong any of three factions. Many will disagree with me but i'm tired of EVE after so many years and STO is new expirience. Sorry for my bad English

Besides that both game have starships & a SciFi enviroment they are veeeery different. STO is very PvE heavy & solo friendly. And if somebody does not like you, you are not doomed to shipspinning in the next starbase till they got bored. :P

I have been burned by blizzard but never to the degree of cryptic, they pretty much took $100.00 with out even trying to make it right. I am almost sure they will have a class action lawsuit against them soon, I am one of many they have stolen money from.
Yep, for everyone to say Blizzard is the worst, there is another to say PWI is the worst. Me, I go with PWI, At least Blizzard customer service went above and beyond when I had an issue, PWI. HA! I was an inactive PWI user for months many months. But I had about $20.00 in Zen and som PWI currency as well as some items. But hey wait, when I log in after some (long) time My account has been perma banned. No emails, no nothing. No reply, no explanations. Just basically ignored. I am only left to guess my account got hacked. But I have to wonder. How did it get hacked? No one had logged on in months maybe close to a year. So how did someone get the account? I didn't have any PWI products installed. I believe it was an inside job. But hey, PWI don't care, I spent money on them. Yeah, like that will ever happen again.
Actually EA and NCsoft are the worst MMO companies in my opinion. PWE and SOE have an excellent stable of games that receive continuous improvement.
I have tried to get into playing EVE but I never stayed for more than a month due to boredom. The space combat in STO maybe on the small side but is way more fun. The personal room on the EVE stations look nice but are really pointless and to even try ground combat you need to play on a PS3 with a separate subscription (I think). Obtaining in game currency in STO Is also easier (I think), I would like to see a Zen vs PLEX debate.
I have to say Blizzard have provided me with some of the best customer service over the years, whenever i have had serious problems it has been sorted within hours not days.
There are other companies which have the same standard.
It is true about Blizzard, for me it is one of the best company. But i don't see anything wrong in Cryptic STO shop, ships are not so expensive and like i said you keep them forever
i play both games, happily. they provide completely different experiences (apart from the spaceship sci-fi setting). all the trolls can say what they wish about either game, or even the companies that run them. in the end, both games are hugely successful and good fun for a great many gamers. the business models are very different, and fortunately we are free to choose.
this thread should have nothing to do with the business practices of Cryptic, or Blizzard or whoever.
play what's fun and what you don't mind paying for (or not). simple as that.
