Is the music any good

I thought about goin on youtube to listen to the music to judge it. I didnt do it because when I enter a zone or town I want to be kinda blown away by the atmosphere and music. The only music I remember from FF14 was the Uldah town theme. I only played the beta. Just wanna know how good it is so at least I can have something extra to look forward to when it launches!

If there's 1 thing that Final Fantasy has always gotten right, it's music. I find most of the music in the game to be very nostalgic because it sounds like different arrangements of songs from previous Final Fantasies. The battle music is really epic. There's the good old chocobo song that plays when you're riding a chocobo. The music is definitely very atmospheric and it goes well with the theme of certain situations and areas.

This is one of the few MMO's in which I felt the desire to turn up the music.  Most of the time I turn it off completely.  I love the music that plays when you rent a chocobo.

The music is pretty excellent throughout. It's very reminiscent of Uematsu and Mizuta's other work, and Soken's presence seems to provide some novelty.

If I had to complain, I'd say the Ul'dah themes are a tad too overdramatic in both the day and night themes; makes for the most emotionally intense crafting grinds ever. Also, Gridania's daytime music annoys me a little, as it is a bit too much Lord of the Rings influence with some generic Celtic bits thrown in which, combined with the overall motif of the town, makes it all seem a little cliche and pretentious; but that may just be my imagination.

Overall, great soundtrack - especially the wilderness areas. Also, there are some musical surprises in there for fans of the older FF games, but I won't spoil them for you.

If you like FF music you will like FF14. Most are very familiar.

Actually, he's not as involved with ARR's soundtrack this time.  SE are still planning on using some of his tracks from 1.0, but for ARR they created a whole new soundtrack with composer Naoshi Mizuta & Kumi Tanioka whom composed most of the FFXI soundtracks.  Uematso will of course be there as a reference again though...

I've had The Black Shroud/Girdania and battle theme stuck in my head for weeks.
