Well i am not so sure it is a really bad decision because it opens many doors to making money but also allows games to advertise better. The real problem i see is when they make a claim that all ads will be safe because they design it.That is such a bs claim to make because as soon as Google and Facebook start waving dollars in their face all hell let's loose.IMO this is only a front to get it started and accepted i see NOTHING good coming from it for the consumer and that is the ONLY people the console should be targeted at.
Microsoft needs to remember that consumers ONLY buy consoles to play games, they couldn't care less about anything else.
All of what i have seen from Micro and xbox 1,i would definitely not buy one. .What makes the whole console approach of late a real fail is they are trying to out date old consoles.Nobody or very few are going to keep 2/3/4 consoles hooked up,so all your old games will be collecting dust. They want you to buy a whole new wave of new games.
Playing on a PC i find the only games i buy now are mmo's and since they take time to play ,i don't buy many unlike consoles where people are buying maybe 10-20 games a year.I am at the point i buy maybe 1 a year at best.So imo this whole console idea of saving money is a farse.PC's are a far better investment.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

not really neccessary... if Sony plays it right and announces that they're against ads on a gaming console might just be the final blow to microsofts xbox...
because why the hell would I want to see ads when I see them every 20 mins on the TV
Yea I can't put it past Sony from using in game ads. It's something the companies have been wanting to do for some time now.
PM before you report at least or you could just block.

You know who I think should be worried? Foreign countries. I can see foreign diplomats not buying the XB1 for their kids because Microsoft is an American company, and the camera and mic are on all the time.
Imagine a drug raid carried out using information from the active XB1, giving the people coming in a 3d map of at least one room of the house being raided.
With the kind of access that Microsoft allowed the NSA into Outlook.com and Skype, they could literally film people in their houses. Bah. Now I don't even want to get on the internet.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
The idea that Microsoft's kinect is watching you have sex on the couch, rug, or in your college dorm room is sick! The idea that they spy on your kids doing who knows what, all day long is morbid and should be actionable! Don't they know kids play consoles? Are adults really ok with MS spying and recording their kids changing in their bedrooms? Did pedophilia become legal??

It's even scarier than I thought.
